How do you know if a bird is female or male?

i like this, but i want to see more line details... more feathers.. y aknow.
oh yeah, yu can usually tell if a bird is male or female by the plumage. males usually have brighter colours. think of a male mallard duck... green head... and females are all brown. or think of chickens... a roster has those tail feathers... ok ok... yeah im a nerd. 4 |

Marlomarizza is right, but blue jays look the same male or female.
Back to the shirt, the line should either be a branch or curved under their weight a little. Other than that I love it. My bird banding friends would either love it or hate it. |

neat idea, but for some reason the purple looks too bright for me, at least compared to the red and the blue. maybe brighten up the blue and red or tone down the purple.

Love it. My vote goes for the light blue; I think it's the most thematically appropriate color (as birds fly in a blue sky) but is also a more flattering color on most people.
