they cant get to each other. hehe. i like it but whats going on in the left hand edge of the maze? is that his escape hole?

TrCamach on Jul 25 '06
umm...after all that the mouse doesn’t even get his victory lap. Maybe the cat will get board of waiting. I have always liked the whole "Tom and Jerry" theme. I would buy this shirt.

If the path actually led to the cat and the left corner of the labyrinth were fixed, perhaps.

2/5. Please consider editing/resubmiting; I'd like to see what you come up with!

Wow. Dude, I would seriously love this if you fixed it, but NEVER EVER AGAIN use "thought you wouldn't notice" as an excuse to be lazy with design, otherwise you shouldn't be designing stuff. . .

other than those two things mentioned though, very clean style, I like. . .

Looks like the cat is the one running the maze because of positioning. I think you should swap the location of the mouse and the cat. It makes more sense.

how can anybody not notice? I don't get why you didn't just finish the shape, it would've taken like a whole three seconds. Unless you meant for it to be like that.. ?

Ok. I meant for it to be like that.

i don't like mazes that don't work.

i used to make mazes for fun, and it just bothers me when i see an imopssible maze.

If you placed a second rat exiting the maze at the gnawed corner, and fixed the maze itself so it worked, it could be an amusing rat-outwitting-cat scenario. As it is, the above posters' quibbles make sense.

We had a Texas Instruments computer a billion years ago, and it had a game on it where the mouse could eat away at corners of the labyrinth and get away from the cat. Maybe that's the inspiration? :)

ok.. so its called "dead end"... maybe we just ASSUME that's a reference to the cat... maybe the REAL irony is that the mouse will hit a dead end anyway... kinda like alot of the comments here. i think id buy it if you backed on something other than mississippi brown. overall, i like it.

Couple things, I agree with the posters above that it really shouldn't be an impossible maze. What robohamster said about the cat could be fixed if the cat was crouched staring intently at the end of the maze. Cats out mousing never look nonchalant about it.

How dare you think I wouldn't notice there's no cheese in the maze!

What would be really cool is if the maze spelled out a word. But that's asking a lot.
_k8y
_k8y on Jul 26 '06
Of course we tried to solve it. It's a maze.

I thought of it as a cat maze and the mouse was his reward for completing it. It works both ways, except the cat can't fit through the maze. I didn't read the title. I'm dumb.

I really can relate to your "laziness".... you work on a design for quite a while with reference, lay out and retooling. At some point you feel like, "fuck it, i am done."

i would definitely buy it if the maze led the cat to the mouse and vice versa... the lil thing on the left corner doesn't bug me. i just want the maze to be fixed... but great idea!

If the top left corner was an actual mousehole, I think it would elevate the unsolvable maze from a "huh" to a "clever." :)

Nice idea; I look forward to seeing its resubmission!

um the cat could just go around the maze...maybe if the whole shirt was mazed up it would be cool...& the cat & mouse more cartoon-like...
TommyM
TommyM on Jul 28 '06
You're a willie, it's not like you created a complicated maze nobody could be arsed to solve... also it qould take greying out that tiny bit of wall in the left corner to make it possible... so why didn't you do it? Also, if you didn't intend the hole on the left edge, then how the hell did it get there?

If I was that cat I'd walk round the edge and save myself hassel...

I genuinely wouldn't bother resubmitting this, just leave it as a lesson learnt...

Reminds me of a Kafka short story:

"Alas," said the mouse, "the whole world is growing smaller every day. At the beginning it was so big that I was afraid, I kept running and running, and I was glad when I saw walls far away to the right and left, but these long walls have narrowed so quickly that I am in the last chamber already, and there in the corner stands the trap that I must run into."

"You only need to change your direction," said the cat, and ate it up.
