why is the infiniti over the record button?
Starkdesign
Starkdesign on Jul 19 '06
kind of a way to express the theme "future forward" in a way of replacing the record button with a button to signify the next level of fast forward (the button to the left of it)

Okay. Why is a remote? (If i buy it) Going to be on my Man Boobs? I got at least twenty spare remotes that go to God Knows What. And I have 5 remotes of things I sold in the past. Why do I want one on my chest.

Starkdesign on Jul 19 '06
well...i guess i have looked at it too long to tell, but the original inspiration was leaned more towards the controls on-screen (for example, in quicktime full screen mode). so think of it more as a remote on your man's "boobs" to interact with?

Could mean that music plays forever? Very interesting, makes you think.

I like it. And my first thought was buttons on front of a dvd player, not a remote so I don't think you stared at it to long Starkdesign :)

I like it. I think it should be placed somewhere else though. I donno.

Starkdesign on Jul 20 '06
no problem, the placement was more of an afterthought, i was trying harder to focus conceptually than as an actual product. any suggestions/alternatives?

i like it how it is, maybe mae the post it a little bigger

ok...but then it startes to completely obscure the record button, which brings up another question, being what if you didn't see the record button at all, would that lessen it as a whole or help?

i thought of it like buttons on a cd player.. have the infinity symbol instead of the "repeat" button

I also struggled with the post-it idea, originally this concept started as a set of controls with the infinity symbol as a normal button instead of the record, but felt as though this was stronger conceptually, implying a human touch to it...

too many colours... grey, yellow, shadow yellow, red, black/white
Starkdesign
Starkdesign on Jul 22 '06
actually its only 3 colors, the larger image at the bottom is just another scheme shown larger to help convey what it is, the one on the shirt is just white, yellow and red, the shadow is white but i don't mind removing it, the shape of the post-it helps convey its 3 dimensional so no real need for the shadow

I like the "human touch" effect of the post-it; the notion of infinity doesn't seem like it would have the same mystical significance to machines. To me, the design's not there yet--it might just be that I'd never wear a set of control buttons (I'm the "Granola" shirt type), but it is an interesting idea, def. I also don't know that it matters what the infinity post-it is obscuring, though I like the touch of red behind it, almost like it's "the red button" that makes something terrible happen or that aborts everything.
Starkdesign
Starkdesign on Jul 22 '06
thanks! i like your idea of the red button symbolizing doom or something of that nature. as far as referring to machines, i wasn't really aiming in that direction when coming up with this, i focused more on just the words of the theme "future forward"

This is so just me, and I KNOW it's supposed to be an infinity symbol, but ... that looks like a Robin mask, y'all, and this shirt makes me think of Tim Drake. By which I mean, 5$!
