I love the idea and the colors. I wish the astronaut weren't in a modern suit and the ship is out of perspective. Also the drawing with the fallen alien, the plaement of the smaller one's hand is awkward. I think it would have worked if the arm were still, since there's a giant hole which is smoking. What I think you did a good job is the background clouds, sun, swoosh and other aircraft.

I have my first design here in my blog forum, if you could take some time to critique it, I would appreciate it.

I decided to use a modern astronaught suit so that it would be recognized as human and because over the past fifty or so years space suits have remained relatively unchanged, so why change them in the future? The spaceships are based off of an actual concept in the works with NASA right now and is meant to be back in the distance a bit - notice the astronaught on the platform, which shows this. However, that is what I thought while drawing it and it is always good to hear it from someone else's perspective. Thanks for the comments everyone!

Oy, oy, oy....i don't wanna' be "this guy" but...
Its really far too busy overall, the mourning alien reminds me of Jimi Hendrix and his flaming guitar, the spaceship just looks poorly done compared to everything else, and it looks a teensy bit like the astronaut in front is taking advantage of the alien in an unholy way....
I do love the astronaut with the whip, and I think that picture should be the entire front of the shirt, just more detailed. The rest just seems like filler.
