I\'ve always liked the sound of \'eclectic guitars\', as opposed to \'electric\' guitars, so i drew some more famous guitars (like bo diddly\'s boxy one, jimi\'s fender stratocaster (played backwards of course) and some slash flying vee action), and i though that the punk hairstyle would be an interesting way to present the idea. Let me know what you think!

Jimi's famous white Strat didn't have a reverse headstock, and the headstock is wrong . Yes, I'm being nitpicky, but when you say you're drawing famous guitars, it helps to actually draw them correctly. The reverse headstock does, however, work well with your 'eclectic' theme.

thanks for the tips homnibus - you're right, i checked and jimi hendrix didn't have the headstock reversed on his particularly famous white woodstock 69 strat. I'd fix that up in a final design.

Perhaps if the guitars were sort of growing out of the hair, rather than looking as though they are balancing on her head. I like the far-off liberty spike look of it.

thanks for the comments everyone - taking on board what you've all said, and having had a pretty long look at it myself, i think you're all right, and that the guitars and the hair could definitely gel more, as if the guitars were growing, rather than 'balancing'. That wouldn't take too much for me to fix though, so keep on with the votes!

More lame nitpickyness from a guitar nerd:
I just don't see a girl with that hair style listening to the guitars sprouting out of her head. Most common punk rock guitars: Les Paul, Les Paul Jr, Gibson SG, Fender Telecaster, Gretsch.

Bo Diddly Guitar? No way. Double neck? Nope. Flying V? That's more metal, except for Husker Du of course...

chrisk i appreciate what you're getting at, but i'm really not trying to make this a guitar history of punk rock. I like guitars; i like playing them, i like drawing them, and i wanted to draw a fairly ecletic set to show the range of designs, rather than one particular school. The fact that the they are designed here to look like a mohawk is more a reflection of my thoughts that that was an interesting, engaging and aesthetically pleasing way to present them, than a means to align them to punk rock more than any other genre.

I'm not arguing with your opinion - if you don't like it that's fine, but it helps everyone involved if some constructive criticism is offered. just a note to you all, particularly dudestayawake - i sent those punk band guys on myspace an email letting them know that i didn't really appreciate their unauthorised use of my design, and they've removed it, so thanks for letting me know, i would never have realised otherwise!

i like the guitars but the girl.. not so much. i also think the should be done in the same style. Still, it's a good concept.

I like the concept with the guitars but the girl is too dark. What if the guitars blended out from her hair better so it looked like they were actually a part of her hair?
