i'm pretty sure threadless don't print transparentcies in which case there are a lot more than 4 colours..

one of the better analog is dead shirts, though

Analog is not dead. It's just not mainstream anymore.

There's definitely more than 4 colors here due to the transparencies. But, you never know...

Hmm not bad. Only issue is the number of colors. I heard threadless sometimes does 5 color prints if it's deserving.. but this seems like way more than 5 colors

my vinyl collection is more alive than ever. But I like it so I'll give it a 4.
Andy Mason
Andy Mason on Jul 11 '06
yeah, i have a pretty good vinyl collection myself, a couple thousand records between my dad and i...

i like them.

montmont... yeah, i think the possibilities are pretty close to endless as far as what you could do with transparent ink on a t-shirt. it could really bring threadless to a whole new level, visually speaking, and since they've printed several designs recently with metallic ink... i don't see why not transparent...?

   bananaphone on Jul 11 '06
i dont think they do transparencies or else you could basically use 1000s of colours.

"i don't see why not transparent." - Andy

Because, transparent tee shirt ink doesnt exist.
cafecalavera
cafecalavera on Jul 11 '06
For 'transparencies' in printing, you just use a color that is a combination of the underlaying color blended with a lighter version of the overlaying color. This means that you are using a different color for every color you have underneath something transparent.

Think about it, you cant print something and then put ink over it that is magically 50% see-through.

i am sick and tired of stupid designs involving tapes and other obselete music technology. don't act like you actually care.
Andy Mason
Andy Mason on Jul 11 '06
they really do sell transparent screen printing ink bases, its a pretty common thing actually. speedball, 3M, pearl and nazdar all make and sell transparent ink bases. for an example of transparent ink (already on a t-shirt) go look at this:

http://www.i-manifest.com/m_love.php

waffler, there's been several people just in the comments about this design that have commented about how much they love their vinyl collections, so i think those people care.

and one more thing i have to tell you... i... i love you guys!

the waffler.

hold your tongue douche bag

i happen to like it, and i $5 it

it'd work well as a threadless select, only because i think it would work better with more colors.

I guess the idea is illustrated differently here, but the idea has already been done

Andy Mason on Jul 14 '06
nah, thats a way different concept man.

as you can see, the date on the ipod tombstone is 1877, marking the invention of edison's original phonograph, and then spans all the way until 2001, the release of the original ipod.

that shirt's focus is tapes alone, while this shirt is more indicating the takeover of digital media as opposed to analog.
