no it will never be cool, because text shirts suck.

"text shirts suck"? Get your head out of your ass.

I think it's pretty cool. Colours are fine, but the typeface is pretty illegible.

whys everyone so down on shirts with text, sometimes a good phrase or some text can add to a shirt.

Funny. I agree that it would be better with a less popular font. :-)

Text can be effective, but I believe that liminal (i.e., overtly direct and often dimensionless) expression is one of the major issues plaguing art today. This was born mainly out of post-modernism and is quite rampant in pop culture (e.g. "It's getting hot in here / so take off all your clothes"). Text poses a particular problem in the world of liminalism because words (especially phrases or sentences) lend themselves to far less interpretation than images because of the finite meaning associated with them. Single words and such tend to work all right, but I still prefer images to text, for my own aesthetic purposes. Sorry for the huge comment.

Not going to defend this design but it kills me that so many are scared of words. Almost every design I see here with an illustration and text there are comments to remove text. "Too specific" "Not open to interpretation" I didn't get the memo that the point of artwork was to be ambigious. Well crafted words (maybe not this batch) can convey multiple meanings too. Sorry for the rant.

What if you moved the "with scissors" down and put some visual in between...like a symbolic dude with scissors. From a distance, I can see how it would be a bit hard to read.

words are lame 90% of the time. in fact i don't even remember the last shirt with words that i liked. most of the time people wearing shirts with words just look lamer 14 year olds who went shopping at hot topica and thought their "mean girls suck" shirt was witty. well guess what, it's not and they are retards for wearing it.

And you express yourself so well, Gerald, with WORDS. You even spelled most of them correctly.
