I guess everyone's comment does not appear when submitting. Well, this is my first submission (Not counting the one that did not get approved.), please be gentle. This design was initially created for Ikarus Apparel, which I co-created. After jumping ship, and taking my designs with me, I thought I could put it to good use here on threadless. Hope you enjoy!

I really like the guy and the wings with strings.. awesome idea.. the background totally kills it for me though.

^he was a character from a greek myth who tried to escape from an island prison by flying with wings made from feathers and wax. But he flew too close to the sun, the wax melted and he fell into the sea and drowned

Judge it AND be nice? I'm not that type of girl =] I don't think people are too familiar with the Greek mythology character Ikarus, therefore not understanding your design. But one might perceive it as symbolizing an angel-imposter dangling above the flames of Hell...or it can just be Ikarus falling into the water. I like it though.

This should be drawn by hand. Vector lines are too heavy handed...or at least try a lighter line weight.

not sure why, but i like the idea and design.. and i do agree with ESloan, at first I thought it was an angel dangling over flames.... but once i read the actual meaning, it made the drawing even more interesting! 5$ :-)

i'm not sure why the ocean becomes flame-shaped if it's icarus - he dropped into the sea after flying too close to the sun, yeah? what if the sea was just a solid shape that went all the way down to the hemline, and the 'cloud' shape above was done flamey instead? that would make more sense because the flames would represent the sun's heat. sorry if i'm getting too literal here, i know it's just a friggin' t-shirt.

I thought Icarus the moment I saw it, but also Heaven and Hell. nice use of neg. space for sure, bold shapes contrasting with the tangled strings, really cool.

it um... looks a little bit like a female reproduction system at first glance, also: the flames give more of an impression of liquid media 'dripping' down the shirt to me.
