I think the idea of him being in a cave and needing the torch comes across more in the background image with the flare. I know you can't use that, and I'm not sure what you could do, but it'd be cool if you could somehow get across that effect, maybe by playing with the shadow tones. Otherwise it just kind of looks like he's holding a torch for no good reason.
