good design, maybe have the blade of the sword peeking out behind his back a little to further drive home the samari part?

the plural 'samurias' looks a little funny as a word to me

As my com disappeared, let's try to write it again - as far as I remember (next, time, I'll copy-paste it).
This is a tribute to my lack of knowledge, cos' though I love Japan, I barely know nothing about it. This design was made from this vecto I made a few months ago: http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/9002/sushisamurais6vj.gif

Thanks for voting and commenting.

> swizman88: katanas have short blades. They can't peek that much behind samurai's back.
> pocketmerlin87: would have prefered without -s ?

I'm pretty sure that the plural form of "samurai" is still "samurai," like deer or fish.

nice illustration, but I would like it better without the stripes in the background...

Remove the lines, the text and I'd wear it proudly.

I kinda like this. And the plural of Samurai is definitely still Samurai.

actually, katanas go on the side of your hip..on your left side, and usually there's two, one short and one long. i never seen a geta sandals like that either, they should look like this good illustration, jus need to research little more.

I totally agree with the above comment, it is really distracting once you notice the sword is on the wrong side. Otherwise, nice work. I'd also consider moving the hand onto the scabard (saya).

I like it personally i just would place it differently, on the side for sure

I really like it, but the lines behind him have got to go.

i think the sword is supposed to be through the samurai, like he's honorably killing himself? maybe?

I'd take the text off, change the blue stripes in the background to brush strokes, and make the sword poke out the back. Aside from all that, excellent concept

Thanks for your coms. I suppose I can't change this submission, so I'll submit it again, when the vote is over.
1. No stripes
2. No text
3. A longer katana (maybe two)
4. Real geta sandals

yeah there is no plural in japanese, so samurai it is. aside from that, not digging it. the fish`s eyes are all buggy and creepy, and the kimono is not very authentic looking, and there is a toe piece like the ones on flipflops on geta. i personally dont like the concept but if you jazzed up the image other people may like it more and buy it.

i didnt get it at first sight... great! but but but, colours are too dark, or maybe it's something related with the fish eyes that doesnt work perfectly. 4 for the idea.

Make the fish look cooler, 'cause few things are cooler than samurai, and the fish looks kind of... I don't know, like he's expiring, or like he'd really be sitting in a la-z-boy with a beer, not busting out awesome moves with his sword and all into the philosophy of war.

Lose stripes and ampersand, rename it Sushi Samurai!

Really nice drawing, great color on black, but yeah ditch the stripes, they take away from the fish's personality.

Jesus people, if you want to be nit-picky, let's point out that the sword should also be worn blade-up!

I like it as it is, but agree that the blade should peek out a bit at the back. Katanas have short blades only compared to something like a No-Dachi -- of the two swords a Samurai carries, the Wakazashi is the shorter -- and even the length of a Katana varied depending upon the era in which it was weilded. (One of the most frustrating things as a collector is that the older blades have been cut down in recent eras, and all or most of the maker's marks are lost.)

Nice. Fish are gross, but the fact that its a samuria fish ... conpensates.

Plus the shirt is just hawt.

Pretty cliche, I don't know about his bath robe though.

It's a cool shirt, but the plural of samurai is samurai. Such as, moose, katana, G-force, deer and other ones that often are miswritten. I like it alot. I'd buy one.
