Are the words 'safari' and 'monkey' deliberately misspelled?
gtrachel
gtrachel on Jul 05 '06
I think so, 'cause it's a monkey, they probably can't spell too well.

'safary monky' is really annoying for me to look at.
i'm one of those people who tend to say, 'oh, that's spelled with an e.' if you did this on purpose, what was the point? if you didn't, well... go back to elementary school.

i like it. I would rather the leaf without any text.

i would buy it if it didn't have spelling mistakes, but the animals are cute and it's a cool idea. :)

i like the animal outlines inside the gorilla but wouldnt wear it if those misspellings stayed. maybe if they were fixed... 3 for now.

yeah if misspellings don't contribute to the design, than get rid of them.

I like everything about this. Too weird to ignore, and looks great on the shirt. 5$

Gorillas are not monkeys...

Umm... Jungle Monkey is a classic slur against black people.

I'm almost certain you were unaware of that, but being black, I have to give this a zero for that phrase.

(yes it's seperated by a misspelled safari, but the phrase jungle monkey is prominent)

I can't support anything with misspellings, sorry. It drives me crazy. Otherwise it's a neat design.

Sorry for the text, but i made this design first for french people,
and in france they like words ending by "Y" ... like something "pretty" ... anyway, my english is not very good ...
next time i will carefuly look in the dictionary !
(i new it was "monkEY" ! :) )

Perhaps if I was in a zoo gift shop ... that didn't know how to spell "monkey"...
umcloud
umcloud on Jul 10 '06
... and that didn't know the difference between an ape and a monkey
lokuhers
lokuhers on Jul 10 '06
ALMOST NICE! Lose the Text cause its not a monkey like umcloud said it is a gorilla which is an Ape. But the jungle monkey racial thing just won't float around here. a Simple palm or banana leaf would suffice. I do like the one green rhino though. 4
