This only works on light colored see-through shirts. But that's not really a problem, I've checked my Threadless tees.

Yes, inside prints will be the new trend. Normal outside designs are soooo yesterday!

Im totally gonna steal your idea

Chest hair, printed on the inside, so people think I'm a real man

that IS a good idea. i kinda like it backwards too because then it seems like the person drew it on themselves while looking in the mirror.

but i more liked it if the superhero would be less visible than on the submission.

inside prints are pretty cool, they're great for a 'vintage' look and feel and aren't any harder/more expensive to produce than a regular print. And since it only works on lighter garments you don't have to worry about an underbase so its not so thick. I hope threadless latches onto this idea and prints your shirt. $4

Reverse-printed shirts are made using a different ink- more like a Sharpie marker than the paint Threadless currently uses.

Awesome idea, by the way...

i have to admit, this is a great idea, and really fits the innovative theme of the competition (well, at least to the degree it's never been done at Threadless).

i'm just deciding whether i'd prefer a different design to this... i think i would (i'm not big on the whole pretending i'm a superhero or sending the message that this shirt would) but you still get the points for concept :)
montmont
   montmont on Jun 23 '06
nice concept, I've seen it done lots before though, even Volcom have shirts like this.

Would have been nice to see a more complicated design using both inside and outside printing. But the metaphor is solid, should do really well.

$5. if printing inside didn't work, threadless could just print using colours that gave the impression that it was coming through the shirt...

awesome idea!

the design does nothing for me. and the inside printing isn't tthat revolutionary since pretty much every surf company prints on the inside of their shirts...(and i'm sure there are others)

Aw man. You get a 5 even though I could never wear it. White shirts make my skin fall off. And while that's a neat trick at parties, it's a real inconvenience.

It's a shame people have seen this before, maybe a new twist on this would be to have some ink on the inside and some on the outside with a different design - perhaps a snake or something winding its way in and out of the shirt (if that makes sense)?
bananaphone
   bananaphone on Jun 24 '06
I like the idea but the thing is that a large patch of ink like that will not allow a persons chest to breath and will probably result in sweatyness and potentially a rash in some minute cases. You'd have to wear an undershirt underneath the tshirt.
(matthijs)
   (matthijs) on Jun 24 '06
Of course a print on the inside has been done before, although I haven't seen it much. The thing is, that in this case there's actually a purpose to print it on the inside, not only estheatically.
I don't know how 'sweaty' a print like this will be. I don't think it will be that bad and because of the climate over here, I do often wear something under my shirts anyway...

And Staffel, I had a sketch that also included a print on the outside with a pocket on the chest and a pen. It looked kinda cool, but I thought it was too cheesy.

Don't think I'd buy it as it's not really my style, but I love the idea and concept behind it. Totally deserves a 5 for that
meve22
meve22 on Jun 27 '06
That's a really good idea. Since it's going to be a thin shirt anyways, I think an extra layer of thin material should be behind it. Only reason for me is one less shirt to launder, and I hate wearing regular printed tees inside out... the feeling really bugs me, and I'm the obsessive type, so I won't be able to stop thinking about it the whole time I'm wearing it..

But enough rambling for me. I'd buy it.
