the island represents a person. heart village is the goal, the treasure. but the way to it is filled with obstacles and indy will have to be careful and pass through many traps - like those in pleasure land that lead him to believe that he has found happiness, but he hasnt.

The main part of the island looks like a stomach to me. It reminds me of the phrase 'the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.' I don't know whether or not this was intentional but it made me like the design
