I wanted to do a design about the holidays and how everyone expects you to be happy when sometimes, the fact that it is the holidays just won't do it. I also wanted to incorporate how many people overlook this fact.

So here we have a snow globe that boldy wishes you happy holidays that contains a sad snowman who wants out. Will you help him?

There's a Pixar short that reminds me off this it was aired along with Finding Nemo. There's this little snowglobe with a snowman and he wants to hangout with the cool Summer toys.
This is out of season though.

raem: It's actually not a text bubble, it's as if he blew on the glass to fog it up and then used his finger to write out the help me.

In theory, I don't think it would work under water but then again, in theory, snowmen are not alive.

And I did think about the whole SOS thing. I wanted to make it subtle though so you would have to look twice. Putting SOS in big letters in the snow just makes it too obvious.

to answer how to make it NOT look like a UFO, you need to make the base no wider in diameter than the bottom of the snow globe. most snow globes dont have wide bases like that.

4Lanie: What is weird is that I have seen more snow globes with the wider base. I have seen them with the smaller base but I know my mom has some in the Christmas decorations with wide bases. *shrugs* You make a point though.

I was going for contrast between the giant Happy Holidays slogan and the snowman. I was trying to make it so it would draw attention away from the snowman to the Happy Holidays.

And thanks to everyone for the love so far! And I have never heard of that Pixar short but I must see it now, the premise sounds ridiculous.

It makes me happy in a sad sad sort of way.
