I don't really get it... That is, if there's something to "get." I'm not even sure about that, but it seems like there is.

Also, I don't like the font. And the style of the decorative patterns around the face don't seem to mesh well with the style of the face.

Keep trying, though. It's not too bad for a first submission. Hopefully the comments you get from this one will give you a better idea of what Threadless voters are looking for.

I can't say I get the full idea behind it.

If anything, I'll say that the "border" is a bit too flowery and detracts attention from the text. Make that a bit more subtle, adn maybe the guys head a bit more abstract...

I like it, but there's no heirachy. pattern looks great but is too strong and competes with the image.

Maybe Im just an antireligious dude but Im assuming thats Jesus... and deserter... so jesus is a deserter?
arguments could be made to support that I guess...

Gratuliere! Use any language, who cares? I like the decorative frame better than the guy's head. Don't use photos , your graphic skills are good.

Same as the others. I like the framing, and hate the drawing and text. It doesn't work together it's like all tearing it apart no harmony, and it isn't intentional.

you all know as a soldier you can get or earn some badges.
some of them are really decoratively and/or ornamentally style.

so the idea was to create a badge for a deserter.

as a deserter you get jail or execution and not a badge.

Now that I know the concept behind it I'd say it's a good job, but the design on its own is perhaps a bit weak. I do like the font though.

Aesthetically, I love it.

As far as the concept goes, I would first off have to see the placement (obviously, it would have to be placed like a badge, small and on one side of the chest). Also, I dont think "deserter" is the best word. Go with "treason" or "traitor".

I like it a lot.
And the text...go for "Treason" or whatever one is charged for when deserting. I wonder if they could make a special version with no type or with "Refractário", it would be hilarious around here...it's sort of a counter-culture joke. We actually sometimes thought of the 'deserter badge' or the lazy or the troublemaker...
And nevermind what threadless users are looking for.
