So this was requested to be resized. Voila! I love this design, it is my homage to the people in the food industry! Hope you all like it.

Took me awhile to realize that girl is waitress...good guy though! Different font but KEEP THE TEXT. $4.

doydel on Jun 08 '06
Hey Alice, what font do you think would be better? I just wanted something that you could read. Serif or sans serif?

ha. this is fantastic.

personally i'd tilt the text at the same angle as the witress but that's just a tiny thing.
doydel
doydel on Jun 08 '06
Oh....thats a good idea prexis...well...dont the designers make changes where they see fit if it gets printed(knock on wood)?

dizzilyblue on Jun 08 '06
I love the idea! The type works horizontally (since it mimics the other line), although it would work tilted too . . .

My only concerns, though small, are about the placement of the X and Y (I thought Y was vertical), and the location of the man's hand (almost looks like his hand is going up her skirt?).

Dizz- I soooooo thought of that when I made it!! I was like, that right hand looks a little precarious, if you think of it like that...hopefully, most will like it anyways:)

I dont like the silhouettes as black, maybe a dark blue to go with the shirt, and some light blue shadows.. then i'd give it a 4!

Yeah, thats a good idea, I did black just because it goes with all colors...

The X and Y are switched, but I still like it. It's cool. If I could tinker a bit, I think I would remove the whole angle thing alltogether, but that's just me. I'm smarter than most people. Some people need an explanation I guess.

I absolutely love this shirt. I think it's just a fun play on words. This is the kind of shirt that if worn, people would stop and go, "where did you get that shirt???"
Nice job doydel!

dig the minimalistic thing. Dull color, shadow people. I think you should go even further by losing the text and limiting the range of values too. For instance, on the red version, instead of black use a 20% darker red. The "Ghost of Cliches Past" or something. Let your public decide what is represented there--if they can't, maybe better?
doydel
doydel on Jun 10 '06
Yeah, uncle, I get it...its hard because I dont want the majority to say "I dont get it" .

By the way, you need to actually vote, it says you have never voted.

Feedbacks good, votes are better:)

Everyone seems to be so concerned with the x and y, well I think they have it all wrong! The patron is on his back do to the great service he's receiving from the waitrees who's on top of him getting her tip from his right hand.

Love it Bueadacious, keep em coming
By the way what happened to Shocker? he he ha haha

the skirt looks more ballet than waitress but i love it. who is going to notice x and y ??? will anyone care??? it is funny and a nice reminder, especially to those mr.pinks out there who think us waitresses get some sort of salary along with our tips. ha ha! ~katie

Is the guy wearing a tie? I could do without whatever that is that's hanging off of him. But otherwise it's a funny concept. I like the waitress and how she's so statuesque.

good idea, original, but you have the axis albelled incorrectly. its the other way round.
corneli23
corneli23 on Jun 11 '06
Sort of... weird. It's interesting and original, but it just isn't "consistant". Sure the guy's tipping the waitress, but that has nothing to do with a 60 degree angle or a set of axes. I like the originality though :)
bananaphone
   bananaphone on Jun 11 '06
"oh man!! Are you kidding me? well, i am an artist, not a mathmatician...assuming i even spelled mathmatician correctly. "

Then don't design anything to do with maths... getting the X and Y axis right is essential if something like this were to be printed so don't bitch just because someone pointed it out.

that person is completely wrong. but whatever, i still dont like it. it seems like some static people you took out of clipart or colored over in photoshop. the waitress is just tipping, instead of having her foot stay planted on the ground (or axis) it just goes straight through.

Honestly the x and y being in the wrong spot kill the shirt, in my opinion. The design has some sort of math element so the axis definately need to be right.

this is the type of shirt weird 40 year old men with ginger hair would buy and wear out on family trips to london with their family. and on the tube on the way home they'd get a business call and talk annoyingly loudly.

Lose the math reference it's extraneous information. The concept works alone. Either draw a thin horizon line beneath then or move the text and use it as the horizon line.
