Also people don't start wars in the name of John Lennon.

This makes a great statement. I love the design also, as I'm a sucker for linear representations of objects and the typegun/tape thing (I obviously don't know what they're called) for some of the type.

way too much text for a tshirt. you'd have to stand still for 5 minutes for anyone to read it, and without reading it, it just looks like a cassette tape, sorry.

If anything, I would say leave the writing on the chest rather than hip where it can be read. Go the green. Oh, and I dunno about the f word either... I'm leaning towards letting it be (agh! -ok, I know that was Paul, but aaaaaannnyway) Great Idea

John Lennon walked on water and raised from the dead...oh wait no no Jesus told George Bush to kill Iraq and Iran and... oh wait no no that doesn't make sense why would Jesus talk to an idiot ummmm John Lennon has been known for more then two thousand years right right...no no wait i have it Jesus was really married to Yoko Ono, thats it, I read it in some book by some guy who had undeniable proof.

have you ever read the words of Jesus? Have you ever taken a serious look at the history of the Bible? the smithonian institute (by no means a religious institution) has called it the most accurate and reliable histrorical document of the ancient world that we have.
think for yourself. Lenno was a juky. The beatles weren't that great.

designwise, i like both text and cassette in the center. it's a cool design.

except... haha. your message is incorrect, sorry. nice try.
sparklepunk
sparklepunk on Jun 09 '06
I really like the message. I think that while it may be a simplified version of a larger issue it is still a clever take.

To Cast The Sky Even if the bible is completely accurate and hasn't been changed over the centuries through many translations and the church deciding what should and shouldn't be in it, many people today are unsure of what Jesus actually did and didn't say. I think this may be the point and as far equating John Lennon with Jesus which someone else took offense with I think that argument already got old years ago and I imgine that's why it was his name being used.

A think the text would be better up a bit higher so you have the option of tucking in your shirt if you want to otherwise cool.

1) I don't really care... if you don't beleive me, take a look at my nickname... if you still don't beleive me, take a look at my profile... and if you still don't, take a look again...

2) It is clear that some people got it and that some people don't...

maybe put the text on the back so people can read it when they're waiting in line, or something. hah. and instead of a cassette, a tape recorder would be more... unique. ish. 3

HAhahahahahaha

Wow.. The only people that would find a 'deep meaning' of that would be those who are currently stoned and/or sloshed.

Please, lets keep threadless innocent.

There are better ways to utilize design talent.

neophelia on Jun 11 '06
i generally don't like plastering myself with "messages", especially ones with political or religious implications (the ones with george bush and "international terrorist", while accurate, strike me as mucho trashy), i would definitely wear this. it's a conversation started, and even if someone just catches the cassette tape image in passing, it's a cool line drawing. i agree with the text on the back idea (does threadless do that?). maybe cassette bottom left front, text bottom right back. good stuff.

It's not really that profound and as a solo musician, John Lennon was ok, but the Beatles are still better.
