i am going to preface this by saying, your drawing is very good, and i like your style, and the following message is not intended for you but rather the threadless community as a whole, especially the regular bloggers.
i dont understand... how can so many people be pissed about the oversaturation of pandas and yet no one mentions it in the comments of the designs. this is how designs like this and this... http://www.threadless.com/submission/75272/Hi... ... might get printed. and then even more people will complain about "oh i dont like the shirts blah blah blah how did this get printed?" it's because you didnt voice your sentiment when it was submitted! you don't have to tear someone apart, just mention the overdone-ness of pandas. from what i hear, they take into account the comments when deciding to print things, and if you don't say what's on your mind then your worst nightmare of the quote unquote "kids" (like me) taking over threadless is going to come painfully true. i apologize in advance to R G, this was not meant as an attack on you, and please do not take it that way. |

jpiatt on Jun 07 '06 This is atleast a clever new twist on using a panda in a design! I really like that, and I really like the design. Only problem is, I think it lacks that wow factor.
Maybe if there was an additional color, or wasn't just black on white, or had something else to it to really make you wanna look at it more.... as is, 3, but I think you could take this somewhere to where I would actually give a Panda design a 5 for the first time in a while. For that, nice job! |

I like the illustration being only black, but wouldn't mind a colored shirt - even just an off-white/cream/natural would be better than snowy white, though I think any pale color would work.

I think it works on a shirt, and that plenty of guys would wear it.
I like it as an illustration style, but maybe a colored shirt, then the design in a white rectangle, lines in black? SOME people are terribly tired of pandas, yes. Obviously plenty of people AREN'T or they wouldn't even get scored high enough to get printed. You can say what you're tired of, and I'm tired of swirly vectors with butterflies in them, but if enough people still want it, then they can and should have it. Clearly, I'm on the panda team. If you didn't know, I'm praying I get to buy this. Not just for the panda, also for the style. |

this is a cute design...i just have one worry...i have this t-shirt, but i bought it in thailand at the start of the year.
I'm not trying to accuse you of ripping off a design you happened to see in thailand when you went on vacation but...well who am i to say that, even if you did copy it i doubt anything much is copyright in thailand anyway! |
