RED SCARE!
I don't know that I like that this shirt tries to say every American is responsible for all of those things when many Americans (or their ancestors) weren't even here when that stuff happened...
It's an interesting concept, but it makes it seem like the American middle class is responsible for all these things...which doesn't really make sense. I don't know, that's just what I get out of it.
Instead of showing a family, show a family of politicians. This would work nicely with an image of Mt. Rushmore.
It looks like you're blaming this average family for stuff that wasn't their fault at all. The rainbow could be cleaner, too.
It's a great idea! but I think it would've been more effective to express modern day issues... like innocents dying in our war. American greed while Africa and other nations are starving.... ect.
I don't think I'd wear this, but I do like the idea of lumping in the american nuclear family with all those other ridiculous atrocities
'Vietnamese War' WTF?
Decent artwork, lousy idea. I'm thinking the only political t-shirt we'll see on Threadless is 'Everyone poops'-and for good reason. |
If you're going to go this route, I suggest that the people's hair and eyes have no color- more to the point of being "all" americans.
i think it would be better if their shirt said family secrets or dirty little secrets like 'im having an affair' or something, to show the real troubles under the illusion of a happy family.
This is dumb. I'LL GIVE MY dirty little secret. DONT GO TELLIN ANY ONCE YOUR NAME NOW ITS ANOTHER REGRET.MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRET, WHO HAS TO KNOW?
Never seen a shirt that creeped me out before this one, powerful message but a bit too much for my taste.
This is about as good as you get. $5, infact....$10, cause I would buy one for a friend of mine who would love it too.
Don't you think that it more represents the fact that these things are being pressed upon American families than the families are actually causing all of these things to happen thmselves?
I've lived in Asia, and I've lived in Europe. Americans are the only people in the world that hate their country so much. It's sad really; patriotism in America is dead.

The same way England did India a favor? Well, maybe not India. But would you say they did Australia a favor? Just out of curiosity. :) |
i'm sure there's a market for this, but i don't think it's threadless. the conceptual problem for me is that aside from the blue eyes, they all look Hispanic to me, which was incredibly confusing.
I actually wouldn't buy this, but I do like it. I wish people didn't automatically hate political shirts. It's immature.
You're so correct! The boy on the right is obviously at fault for slavery. The bastard will probably grow up to design Tshirts. Then I'll see his Tshirts and not buy them. HA! $5.
It seems as though this shirt is meant to stir up controversy without saying much of anything really. I wouldn't wear it.
The shirt causes controversy just for controversy sake. I prefer to keep my political messages relatively tasteful, I wouldn't buy.
