it's funny. it's clever.
I don't drink, and therefore wouldn't buy this, but it's clever and attractive enough for me not to just simply dismiss it.

Yes, what chelly said- breaking through the shirt would make this too awesome for me to even comprehend
ploppyseed
ploppyseed on May 24 '06
Thanks all for the comments.

chelly and sveteness, did you guys mean tearing through the actual t-shirt, or breaking through the brick wall. I thought about the wall thing, but it was a little cluttery.

Although I don't find the fascination of wearing a t-shirt that promotes yourself as an alcoholic. I do find this funny.

Nice job!

yeah its pretty sweet, but to make it purchase worthy i think i would have to see him breaking through the shirt... it would just add that much more to it

Very clever and definitely funny! Love it!
pehechaan
pehechaan on May 25 '06
I don't see why everyone is saying this is so clever. It just reminds me a lot of the shirts that frat boys wear that have dumb jokes about sex or beer, etc. Just doesn't seem like the subtle humor that a lot of the classic threadless shirts have.
ploppyseed
ploppyseed on May 25 '06
Feh, maybe it's a generational thing. I noticed that slightly older folks like it more than yournger ones, at least among friends I've shown it to.

I know, not as subtle as animals humping, but hey it's my first try ; )

pehechaan on May 26 '06
heh, I agree, I don't really consider afternoon delight a classic. Though the new submition "Penguins Doin' It" has lots of potential....yeah. Didn't mean to sound so critical in my first comment, I guess it's just not my style.

No worries. I'm still trying to gauge what people respond to here. I'd say "Goatse" and "Florence Nightingale" mark off a pretty wide spectrum!
(for the record though, I *love* aftternoon delight :)

The typography seems really bad to me. Maybe kill the bubble and change the face. Funnnnny concept. I also like the "breaking out of the shirt" notion as he is suppose to be busting out of something... maybe your chest? some basic line work ribs or something? hehehe.... maybe that's too much.
dagstar
dagstar on May 28 '06
leave it alone. its great. who cares if only old people like it? we have more money to buy the damn shirts.
this is a great shirt and old people like to drink beer.

found this at
http://www.beaconhillwine.com/newsletter/2002/20july/Beer.htm

The pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock because
they ran out of beer. Beer was a staple on long
voyages for a variety of reasons. After the long
crossing of the ocean, supplies were spent. They
had planned to follow the east coast down to find
a strait but were out of beer at the first land
sighting and refused to go farther. The first
structure they built was a common house with
a brewery inside it. Back then even children
drank beer.

If only the Pilgrims had the
Beer Aid guy in their day.
OH YEAAAAH !

I think it is great as is. I think it would add clutter if he was breaking through something. I think it is rare to find something funny here and this is funny to me. I'd buy it, and I am well past my frat years.
