About my design

I think these would make fantastic wall stickers, but unfortunately they feel a little too cliché for a tshirt :/

It's a shame because that is one of the compromises threadless or blik will have to make when choosing a winning design here.

It very well thought ut and the artwork is flawless (as usual) but it ain't really working on the tee... gaaahhh,,,,

I just want the skull with the top hat ceneterd on a red tee!!!! maybe even with the wings but just the skull woul dbe perfect.... or an eyeball with flames on one sleeve and and eight ball with flames on the other sleeve..

yep, 5 nonetheless

Hey eveybody. Thanks for the positive feedback already. A few words about my design (as my statement from submitting has dissapeared.)

This is one of two designs I couldn't decided on submitting, so I submitted both. The other has gone awol (why I don't know) but you get the idea. Basically, if you wanted to you could arrange these icons in any way, like a totem for instance, as a t-shirt design. Maybe this positioning was a little too obvious, but I imagine this would still make a great t-shirt, for guys and gals.

For a proposed layout of wall decals have a look at my profile page.

Thanks for the votes and good karma people.

I was just talking with someone about how you deserve to be printed more often. Your style is so well developed and your use of the limited colors always impresses me. I think on a dark red shirt this would look much better t-shirt wise, but as wall decals this really excels. It gives me a nostalgic feel, and I like it.

i love the whole decal set. the interchangability is awesome. i could definitely see this being produced and think this is how all the blik subs should be presented. The art is awesome, but i don't like the arrangement on the shirt. the flaming balls either side make a pair of droopy boobs.

d3d: I had designed a 'totem' as well, but that has been pulled from the running. Go to my profile in about 10 mins, it'll be over there.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

as I said in the blog, this is far too close to House Industries design work for comfort.

That's awesome Rocks.
One suggestion for placememnt on the shirt. As some have said it's not as effective on the shirt. Try repeating the random images (much like the background) and placing them on either the left or right hand shoulder region. I think that'd make an awesome shirt. Otherwise 5$

Cool.
Reminiscent of 1950s-1960s hot rod action.
In a very good way.
Big Daddy Roth would have approved.
5.

i like it. i also like the totem version, perhaps with a tiny bit of space between each item? :)

come on thievery and montmont!!!! the house industries set is based off of ed roth's work for crimminy sakes! house industries just traced his work and others! at least Mr. Rocks can create his own illustrations.

it's called low-brow, it's a movement in the art that is still in existance today, I mean why didn't you post everyone else that has used these elements like rick griffin, robert williams, ed roth, r. crumb etc..... ?

it's the weapon in any good lowbrow artist's arsenal.

Thanks for your supposrt Rob. This is the first time I have been taken out after one day of voting, and Ive got to say it sucks.

But it all it does is disheartens me to what has become the norm around here: good design, bad voters. I don't rate myself as high as some of the other designers here, but even they can't score above a 2.3 nowadays. I don't know what it is, bitter kids, jealous competitiors, what? I guess art is in the eye of the beholder, but I miss the days where if you would pass over a design you didin't like, and give 4's and 5's too those who deserved it most. Now, if it's not appreciated even slightly, you get stung with a 0, bringing my down, and eventually out.

This may well be my last sub. Time will tell.
