Alright, let me first start off by saying this has nothing to do with Kabbalah and how the followers of Kabbalah wear red string around their wrists.

Ok, so red string/ribbon, when worn on the finger(or in Mr. Elephant's case, his trunk, tusks and tail), is to make sure you don't forget something or someone.

So Mr. Elephant here really doesn't want to forget anything. Ever.

bananaphone: I thought that too when I finished it so I took out some of the string/ribbons but I ended up liking it more with the tons of ribbons/strings. I think it makes him look a bit more stupid with all the ribbons/string being all crazy and such.

When I showed it to some of my friends, a few said the same thing so maybe I'm just the minority.

Cute. I'm liking it most when it faces to the right and is positioned on the bottom, and I think earth tones are your best bet for the actual shirt.

i like the positioning on the natural tee, but i like the color of the yellow tee... i agree about the too many red strings, i like the idea of having several, but maybe just tone it down a lil... or just having one single red string, but just a tiny bit bigger than the ones already there? i dunno... i like it for the most part tho. $4 :-)

arabiantealeaves: I could add more wrinkles but I opted out of that because...well, I don't really have a reason other than I didn't even think about it. Maybe I'll play around with the idea and see what I can come up with. I don't get what you mean by white string on ivory tusks, are you just saying I should have made it white string...or maybe something else?

Personally, I'd stick with the many strings. I like that idea better than one big string or something. I think I like it centered and on yellow best, 'cos you don't get yellow shirts often enough.

perfectly__unperfect: I don't know exactly where I heard it but growing up I remember reading about it in some stories and hearing it from people how if you don't want to forget something, you tie a red string around your finger. And since it's on your finger, it's hard not to notice it so it ends up reminding you to not forget.

it's hard to make the connection....but it could just be me.

I have always heard the 'tie a string around your finger to remember' thing but never a specific color. Any old thing tied around your finger would do. My dad doesn't even use strings; he just shifts his wedding ring to the opposite hand.

Anyway, cool design - woul dlove to see it with wrinkles on the elephant too. :)

Rahna: I usually heard it was red but you are right about it being any color. Maybe most people say red since it's so eye catching. And I think I will work on a version with wrinkles...if I ever find time though, I'm surprised I even found time to do this in the first place.
