To my knowledge as well this is original, the closest thing that I've seen is a photograph of clouds in the sky appearing to come out of a spray paint can. But I feel this is much different, so there shouldn't be any problems.

this reminds me of scratch art. i did a v for vendetta scene with it and so i had to stipple a looot. but it turned out pretty good.

I wish the dots were made into city lights instead of outlines. I think that would be a lot cooler. But nice concept.
