I wont lie, ive actually seen that design before somewhere a few years ago.



Think what you want but i didnt intentionally "rip" this design. I wish i could show how this submission started out looking and evolved into what it is now, trust me, it looked NOTHING like the final product. (hope that makes sense)



Im sure many would now view my sub and maybe think much less of it . But, i would like to put foward an example: Look at graffitti art, which is strongly based on using text. Ever notice how similar works are from one artist to the next? Grafers bite each other silly, continually replicating ideas and so on from various other works. This is very much ACCEPTABLE. .



I know this sub is very similar in style, even the tilt ect, but as many will know, it is so hard to do somthing entirely original nowadays, especially when it comes to typography because its all been done before, about a million times over.



Im late for uni, I have to be off now.

Oh yeh, by tha way clancy, i had a look at your online portfolio, im tempted to point out all the "unoriginal" styles, logos, ect i could see but i wont, im seriously late for uni.

Okay, im back from uni. I just wanna say:



Clancy, if you read this, be very careful with critism in the future. Make sure you can back yourself. Seriously man, I looked carefully at your work and I struggled to see many fresh, innovative or even remotely original ideas or techniques or styles or elements.



Im not saying that ill always be totally original, and im not prefect in any ways, i know there will often be traces of other work from other artists in my projects, designs ect.



But i dont go round dissing others like you did me because unless youre at the forefront of your design/art area, u really dont have the right to be so harsh, and youre certainly not at the forefront mate.



Im sorry, i dont want to be viewed as someone who cant take critism, trust me, i get critisied all the time, this though is an acception. Just hope people can appreciate the message (in my submission) im trying to communicate and look at the special cause its been created for - the Red Cross.
