no one that lives in LA is from there. they are all imports from the midwest trying to "make it" in the entertainment industry. 99% of them fail. save yourself some humiliation and just go back to Minnesota.

(no offense to anyone who lives in Minnesota. I just picked a random midwestern state.)

i got it.

and i like it. in fact, there's a better than even chance i would buy something like this, it's a great change from the usual threadless fare

Perhaps it would help a bit if it were more obvious that it is based on the "Hollywood" sign. From a distance, the shadows just make them look like wonky letters, rather than being erect with shadows. The shadows aren't being cast from a consistent direction either.

the lettering looks like it's from the hollywood sign, but there's no mountain for it to be on top of. if you put the mountain on there, it would be pretty cool.

It's a neat idea, but it only really works if you are wearing it whilst in LA. If I wore this shirt in London, for example, it would just come across as really random &/or vaguely anti-american.

vaguely anti-american.

perfect!

I am from Minnesota and live there. I would buy this shirt just because it says MN on it. LOL. I think if you want it to look like the Hollywood sign then you should add the hill too.

i had the hill, but it looked too muchlike a shirt with a hill on it.

i liked the simple approach.

do you mean to say that only people from LA should be in the entertainment industry?

I got it and I don't live in LA.
However, I DO live in Northern California.
Eh... still not impressed.

I dont see how.
minnesota is a beautiful state.
LA is a horrible shell of a town.
if anything, this is anti- mainstream media.

naaww, minnesota's full of hosers. only place they go is to canada for hockey games. i'd attack michigan... so cocky with their upper peninsula...

just kidding... i'll stay in chicago, thx

kirksheltonart,

I think your thumbnail is better than the
design. I think a shorter and more general
message would get a better reaction.
Something like,

GO BACK
or
GO HOME
or
GO BACK HOME

This allows the design to follow the positioning
of the letters from the original "HOLLYWOOD"
more closely and it has greater appeal beyond
Minnesota.

Here's a detailed photo of the original
http://www.los-angeles-attractions.net/images_files/tour/orignal/hollywood.jpg
I would love to see the gridwork holding
each letter and the shadows closer to
the base of each letter.

i'm pretty sure a shirt that said "go back", "go home" or "go back home" would read the same as "go back to your own country", "close our borders" or "build the wall". not the clearest message.

i did understand the 'go back to mn' though. i giggled.

i reckon you should add like a white silhouette of the hollywood sign like you do on the background there, and then add the minnesota message in black on top of it..good idea though, reminds me of garden state when i see a theme like this
