Anyway, I like this design. It isn't a literal translation or representation.

Also, I like how the nipples make it seem as though the dragon is really a person in a costume.

The dragon's 'hair' is a little weird.
The syringe could be a little clearer.
The flashing light could maybe be made to look more like flashing light. It seems as though the horse got bumped in the head.

Otherwise, def. one of my favourite Red Cross subs.

Very cute design. Would make a good normal shirt, but I had to look it over a few times before I understood what was going on (and I didn't realize that the thing on the horse's head was a siren until I read comments) and I had a hard time connecting it to the red cross.

This is supposed to be a rappresentation of the classic image of a man helping a beast-usually a lion- pulling out a thorn from its foot (well i thought that was a classic but it seems many of you guys dont have familiarity with it-especially if you ask "is he injecting something?"-or maybe thats not clear enough)
also(but this is just collateral,the image would be supposed to work even without this knowledge)that guy is St.George,who is portrayed always fighting the dragon on the classic european old painting. but here he's giving his help to the "bad beast".he works for a better world,as the Red Cross do around the world.now you shold get how the design is related to the theme of the contest, and keep in mind also that we should try to make design wich "stand alone".
I've never seen that Trogdor before but well, if you think that my dragon and that pixelated-random-basic dragon are similar,so all the dragons in the world are similar!or you maybe need new glasses.
the dragon have a cool aircut,cause i drawn it like that,and he has 2 nipples as all the dragons on the universe:)
(and he has no penis, before you ask...)
on my blog space you can see the optional RedCross on the horse,that maybe would make more clear the siren on his head.i've just left it as optional,judges will judge if it is "legal" or not.

I also thought Trogdor even before reading the comments. He's missing one of those big beefy arms though. And I doubt this dragon's ability to burninate. It's too cute for me, but the colors are good.

Excellent concept needing a few adjustments
in my opinion. It would help if . . .

. . the splinter was bigger and a different color
than the pliers

. . the posture of the knight was in a "pull" position

. . the dragon was sitting down so it didn't look like
it was trying to stomp the knight

. . the light on the horse's head had a bulb in it

suppose the theme was road trips. you decide to draw morris albert in a convertable, hair blowing in the wind, radio cranked, 40oz malt liquor in the cup holder. you might say, well, i know morris albert is mostly thought ouf as a sensitive sort of guy, but i thought it would be funny to change the story. but i would be remembering "feelings, oh oh oh feelings" and i would be wondering "why has morris albert suddenly turned into a road warrior.

just so, st george always killed dragons. if i were to wear this shirt around, i would want it to tell why he changed his tune here. it doesn't. if you wanted a saint, you might have chosen st jerome. and his lion?

^steve, i understand what you say and ill try to explain my point again:
i didnt "want a saint", i wanted a dude usually portrayed like a "fighter" to make him kind and full of compassion(who better than him?).
i've tryed to make a design wich stand alone from the contest theme.so you could wear a tee with a kind knight who helps a dragon. thats pretty simple.
in more,in case someone ask you the significance of that tee, you could say thats related to the ARC, and that would make it definitely clear i guess.
well, if someone would ask:"is that St.George dude?" you could say:"yes,it's St.George,who were fighting the dragon in the classic iconography, but here he decided to work for a better world!".
i think all the subjects can be revised, parodied or whatever to convey new messages. thats all.

i used to draw S-dragons all the time! this one's great!

I know some people are giving you crap over this picture, and some(like me) think it is very good. There is something here that confuses me. Are you trying to depict St. George who slew a symbolic dragon? Or are you trying to depict George of Capadocia who slew an actual dragon? I realize the irony you're using, and it's a nice picture, it's just that was confusing me.

I'M WAITING FOR THE REPRINT! I LOVE THIS SHIRT SO MUCH.
