I agree with the others. But if you want to keep it a square, maybe you could go with a fancy border like in those medieval religious paintings.

Ellsswhere on Apr 15 '06 fine idea but not really thought out because of your crop like everyone has said... check out other scenes that have been printed that really dont have a way to end, always find a way to make it look like its desolving into the shirt rather than just ending in a square

terrible little square placement. its needs to not be in a square. make it more open.

I'd like to see it on a white or blue shirt. Probably ble though. And you could close off the cloud but make it look like the water is running off into the shirt. (did that sound confusing?)

Alright, I think everyone is crazy, cause it's actually a rectangle, not a square. And lets all remember this is digital, screen printed the rectangle will work really well. And, how about commenting on the art that's in the rectangle, which I must say is beautiful and so meticulously created. The detail is beautiful! I wish I could create an image like this one! Great work! PLEASE COMMENT ON THE ART NOT THE SQUARE!

the art work is well done. but i think compositionally it could be better executed. the placement of the salt shaker right in the middle is static and allows for little natural movement around the piece. That is a shame because i like the detailed textures you used, like the hand where its behind the salt shaker and in the background. If there were good movement around the piece those details could come forward more. i think you made a good choice on colors, they work well.
and now i do have to say it, i think your design would work better if it broke past the rectangular picture plane. |

i like the rectangle. it might look better if it were longer that it is tall, with the hand off center, but other than that the whole concept is great.

I love the idea, and the drawing. I think it would look cool if the hand looked like it was coming out of nowhere from above, and maybe not have a sky, so it's not as box-like. 3.

i like it...if you did it on white with the black rectangle border, it'd look more comic-book-ish if that's what you're going for.
or just make the shirt blue and you know... blend the graphic in to the shirt. great concept. |

Yeah better borders dude... make the bottom ocean part flow into the backround with ripples... then make the top part flow out with clouds. Just a thought.

Don't get so defensive. This is a t-shirt site, not a gallery; good art does not equal a good t-shirt design. Personally, I think that what's in the box is original and well-illustrated, but when you put it on a shirt, the result isn't all that impressive. |
