I like this one, but I agree with blandford that the hand's intention isn't entirely clear. I think it would look more logical with the *other* arm reaching in, so that it would (theoretically) wind up between the boat and the island.

I don't see any strong connection to the red cross here, and I also don't care because this is very cool and should be printed whether it be for a loves contest or just the regular ongoing one. nice job!

timrb on Apr 11 '06 I don't agree with blandford. The light, to me, is clearly guiding the fisherman home.
I also like how this shirt is more abstractly related to Red Cross, but it's not a total stretch. A lot of more literal-minded people just slap some hearts or hands or puppies on their shirts, which makes this contest look more like a valentine's day themed one. Three cheers for originality. |

I agree that this is the WINNER for Red Cross Comp.
I would try to ad a cross in the place where light on Lighthouse goes, and make it like cross is light. Maybe that can be kind of Christian mark, and that sould be awoided, but just a bit of conection to the Organization would be cool. I also see this as a great poster. 5 |

the lighthouse represents hope. which is a theme to this contest. matthijs, I think this the best one. I think mine is #2, but I think this is what the red cross wanted when they came to threadless. At least, I hope. That they want something clever, cool, well designed, that represents their wants in a smart way without being emotionally heavyhanded or bleeding heart. it's a $5 of course. how could it not? |

Thank goodness, the first design all weekend that I don't hate. (Am I becoming more jaded??) This could use a little cleaning up around the edges, but otherwise an appealing and imaginative design.
