not trying to bust your balls or anything, but you have flow going the wrong way through the aorta. and the arrow in the right ventricle should be coming from the right atrium not the right ventricular outflow tract.

SVC-->RA-->RV-->PA-->lungs-->PV-->LA-->LV-->aorta-->body

sorry...that is the med student in me talking.

i like it, but you know someone is going to hassle the wearer.

rudra on Apr 05 '06
someone should've paid more attention in bio class, with circulation like that you'd be dead pretty fast.

but i guess that's what happens when you try to mask your STOLEN IMAGE by erasing the arrows and putting your own in, erasing the little guy at the bottom and re-tracing sections for that "hand-done" look. the addition of the stomach(?) was a nice touch - not sure how that was supposed to fit.

http://agingresearch.buffalo.edu/chf/general.htm

tsk tsk tsk!

you guessed it: ZERO

Yes you are right YOU CAUGHT ME, i shouldn't of used a correct diagram of a respiratory system, wow! you found the same image on google awesome!, your right i probably should of just made it up out of my head, or went to my local library, checked out a book on the human body, scanned it, then traced it, -but then knowing you had the time to google it, you probably have time to find out where i live and see if i checked out any books. i would think 28 year olds had less time onthere hands than this, go have a kid or somthin.
rudra
rudra on Apr 05 '06
it took 2 seconds to google that, and maybe another 2 seconds to see it was on the second page

there is more than one way to portray the circulatory system - I have a fuckload of A&P, development, and bio books - and golly gee whiz! - different illustrators can come up with their own, ORIGINAL, and physiologcically correct drawings! *gasp* - shocking, but true!

you didn't show it correctly - as evidenced by your arrows

and even working 28 year olds get breaks in their day

I was going to vote 4 despite the incorrectness of the diagram, but you seem like an asshole and I'm not going to give you money for being a jerk. So 0.

i'm not surprised about the science being wrong, since the handle on grammar and spelling isn't so hot either.

that looks quite a lot like the notes i'm studying, only the science is wrong........... um yeah oxygenated blood *leaves* the lungs, it doesnt travel into it. that bothers me kind of a lot.

lucyfarfort on Apr 06 '06
Love the art work. I don't understand the whole copyright issue thing can't see that this is breaking any copyright laws.
It would mean basically drawing anything at all would be breaking some copyright law somewhere or another 'cause practically everything has been done before.

Note: If you're going to criticize please be constructive and respectful about it- the jerk :)

the arrows arent meant to be correct- it all about red cross going out of there way to places that nobody usually would, above and beyond

lol i think Mr. Paulin is sarcastic and witty. Except for that comment about rudra being a 28 year old with no life, that was a little off color and biting for my taste. WIth correct arrow(s?) i would give it a 4. (and your explaination of the arrows being incorrect is a little late...seems like duct tape on a burned down house lol)

interpaulin you get a zero for being a little cry baby.
oh, that and the fact that I would have given this a zero anyway. Boring, inaccurate, and has a god damn heart on it. Enough already.

This is fun!, my explaination is just a joke, or not?!, this is a t-shirt contest site nothing more. somebody called me a "crybaby"?- awesome. im eating this up and want more, more 0's t00 plz :)
Little Liana
Little Liana on Apr 06 '06
more 0's t00 plz :)

You got it.

Either make it physiologically correct, or make it clear somehow in your design why it's meant to be wrong.
Dmakexmachina
Dmakexmachina on Apr 06 '06
Well even if your explaination is true, it is still not good because anybody looking at this shirt and didn't know it was about the Red Cross would just comment on how it is anatomically incorrect. And then I would have to explain to them the premise of it and they would give the same response everyone else is giving to it now, that it was done to cover up a blatant mistake.
And your defense of it was very poor too. Instead of just admitting that the design wasn't original, you commited an ad hominem fallacy, meaning you attacked the deliverer of the arguement which had nothing to do with the viability of the arguement. It is a tactic commonly employed by children hence that is probably why someone called you crybaby.
So for lack of original design, iffy explanation, and immature arguementitave skills, I will give you the 0 you deserve and apparently crave.

hahahaha. i think Dmakexmachina has left the best comment i have ever read on this site. hahahahahahaha

and to interpaulin - i really did like the design at first and i'll give you a 3, but seriously take it like a man.
its criticism, in all forms, just accept it and move on.
involuntaryspasm
involuntaryspasm on Apr 06 '06
Yeaahh- 0. Not only have you been rude to people who found you out and discredited your attempts to defend yourself, and not only is it anatomically incorrect despite your explanation, but this also doesn't say "Red Cross" to me. At all, really. I see this, and think 'Oh, bio-geek.' (Not in a bad way, and also I'm not a bio-lover so I wouldn't know right off that the circulatory system doesn't work that way ^_^). I'm fairly sure just about anyone who looked at this t-shirt and understood that the blood flow was meant to be going places it isn't meant to, they would be far more inclined to think the person who bought the t-shirt is an idiot, than that it has anything to do with the Red Cross.

I like the idea of an x-ray like shirt that shows the cardiovascular system, but only if it was ananomically correct. This is... cartoony.
ausryf
ausryf on Apr 07 '06
If you had made it with the red cross theme, without the whole anatomically correct stuff, then you might have done quite well. Pity.

That red cross idea was not bad, actually. Pity about the crap you're getting from everyone else, unfortunately the're right.

How in the world does this relate to the AMerican Red Cross????
StopightRave
StopightRave on Apr 11 '06
This is different from using an anatomical drawing from reference... You copied the entire illustration, text and arrows, minus the labels and the body. And got the arrows wrong.

Or, according to your explanation... The red cross going out of their way to help people is represented by heart murmers and lungs filling with blood?

I agree with those who've already posted - either make it physiologically correct, or make it clear somehow in your design why it's meant to be wrong. As it is it doesn't make sense.

In addition, you've stolen someone else's artwork instead of simply re-drawing it yourself. You should know that this goes against the copyright guidelines, and submits you to legal responsibility should the owner of the artwork decide to stand up for their artistic rights. Please, respect the hard work and creative thought process of other artists and stop stealing.

As for your online arguments with those who've critiqued you - the point of this type of submission-based progam is to get critiques, and opinions, both good and bad. There is no reason to be antagonizing or starting petty name-calling fits. It seems that you are looking for attention ... children who feel abandoned throw fits too, not knowing any other way to get people to notice them. Adults are supposed to have learned better.

While I get the irony of the fact that I am responding to you, and therefore giving you the negative attention you crave, my advice to you is meant in kindness:

Learn to take criticism constructively. Take the help and use it to create better images, thus achieving your goal of getting a printed shirt or winning a contest. Or, admit that you're perversely delighting in creating a negative situation, and ride your drama llama on out of here.
