The venus looks clipart-y. Fit her more seamlessly into the design; center her body in the flytrap (or find a way to make her the center of attention, right now she blends in too much); create unique flies instead of copy/pasting; choose more design-flattering colors; and I'll give it a 4 because I love the idea.

Forgot to add: not loving the hyperpixelated blending. Just doesn't fit with the rest of the design. But anyway, my main advice is to somehow make Venus the first thing your eye goes to, instead of the last. I think that's the main problem I'm having with this.

5$ for blending two ideas in an original and interesting way 5$ for re-drawing Venus and not leaving her as a scan or vector-trace 5$ for nicely drawn venus flytrap creating a symetric compositon with asymmetric elements 5$ for a clever pun 5$ for a succesful blending of line-art and pseudo-gradients that create a cohesive unified design 5$ for leaving Venus off-centered, but beautifully framed within the center of the Venus flytrap 5$ for showing people what submissions could and should be like, and reminding me why I come here ... did I mention I'd buy this? in either pale yellow or pink. |

I was worried for your sub when a week or two ago there was another Venus/Venus fly trap sub up, but yours is much better (and everyone in the blog forum knows you started working on this ages ago.)
I still say that black isn't the best color for the outlines, though I honestly no longer know what you would change it to. Anyway, it looks great. Good luck! |
