Chemistry Majors should get this instantly, although I suppose black olives would have made more sense. Anyway, in case anyone wants to know, the white thing is a pearl onion.

This is good, I think it would be better with different shirt color choices and more detail to show that it's a pearl onion... (and a ?tomato?)

It occurred to me that I should perhaps explain the shirt more fully. It's a simplified model of the molecular structure of ethyl alcohol, man's favorite intoxicant. The two olives are Carbon, and the red thing (which is supposed to be a cherry) stands for Oxygen, with a pearl onion Hydrogen .

Also, thanks for the kind comments!

"The two olives are Carbon, and the red thing (which is supposed to be a cherry) stands for Oxygen, with a pearl onion Hydrogen."

then make it LOOK like a cherry, a pearl onion, and olives. the in-joke of the chemical structure can be the part that the smart folks get. this is a clever idea which would definitely appeal to the fraternity/binge drinking/ margaritaville crowd, not to mention goofy uncles and wacky science teachers.

To M. Rogers:
Well, I thought the olives and the cherry were pretty obvious, but I guess different people see different things. That's why I decided to explain the shirt more fully after reading squaker's comment. Ah well, it happens.

Yeah, I first thought it was a cherry tomato, too. Not sure why, since you usually don't stick those on drinks. I guess it just really looks like one.

I like it though.

You don't need to be a chemistry major to get it.

I get it. And I'm only in high school chemistry.

ANYWAY, clever concept.

Never said you had to be, but you'd be a piss poor chemist if you didn't get it. :)
