The splintered line work is excellent
as well as keeping it simple by using only white on a black shirt. I prefer the lettering to be a little more stylized though. Right now it's on the plain side. The bird could use some hunching over more rather than standing straight up. |

i think its great. poe would be proud. the line work really reflects his writing and personality. i really like the dull color shirts.

the bird looks a bit too peppy for a poe reference maybe a little more dark and evil looking and i would wear it.. it would be cool to see this shirt in like a traditional tattoo style design..anyways thats what i have to say..

I'm with AdamMisfortune on this one. I do like the art, but I think the overall effect is too happy/cartoony to be truly invocative of Poe's raven and lost Lenore.

I adore Poe with an intense passion, he is an absolute genius. But.. something about the way the lettering is... and... I just don't know if I'd wear a big chunky "NEVER MORE" on my shirt.

Poe ripped off "The Raven"'s imagery and metrical rhythm from Elizabeth Barrett Browning. A Threadless tribute to him would be validation for all of those people submitting designs they stole from clipart galleries.

Funny, I've never cared for the rhythm of Poe's "The Raven" (always a much bigger fan of just the idea and central theme), yet I quite like Lizzie's stuff...
I think that this would work better with a more "serious" raven. I like the design, but the tone of the shirt isn't in keeping with the tone of the poem. The fact that I am a corvidophile as well as an English teacher, however, means that I would happily buy this shirt for just the cool, kinda-cartoony raven if there wasn't the text there. I'm conflicted. I'm not going to rate it. |

The raven is much like the lettering which could very be what you were getting at, but it isn't very appealing to me

I love the idea, love the look. Maybe a little more hunched in the bird would be better, but its good as it is. Definately the white on black... the red with the black square looks terrible. The others are all to light. Keep Poe dark. :)

ah distinctly i remember it was in the bleak december
and i wish some threadless member wrought more Poe that could be worn great idea. would sell, threadless or not, to the semi-literate goth crowd. i think the letters could be better, and maybe the raven more ravenish, but overall this shirt is successful. |

When I was a kid I used to love Edgar Allen Poe. It's weird that I actually understood what he was saying, being so young. Also, in 10th grade we had to memorize the first 2 stanzas of this poem/story/thing....and it was great. I love this t-shirt.

I think the placement is too high on the shirt. Move it down a bit, work on the bird, it will be gorgeous.
