Tell me what you think, and nope I didnt use a photo for reference... I actually went and got a real human skull from the biology department to use. How gross but cool!

Thanks, it was a lot of work.... I messed around with the hue once I got the final shape drawn out right and this was my favourite end result.

I know you say It's not from a photo, but it really really does look like a livetrace jobby....

I just used different size dawing circles to almost paint it out ... same as how i did the edge on the extra tasty bit in the corner, you can see the edge properly on the full size (2500px wide) which also looks quite pixely as its a hard edge and obviously I only used 4 colors when drawing it so it doesnt smooth out until made smaller.

Ok... so maybe im tripping here, but i fully can't see a skull...

Nice, but it isn't very clear.

it took me a few tries to see the skull, but i admit i'm not a designer and i'm not sure if that could be improved.
the fork looks funny to me--maybe something in the angle of the shadow? again, not a designer.
i really enjoy this concept though. it makes me laugh.

Thaks for all the comments so far! I'm drawing skulls for a piece of art coursework. (a 4 week study followed by a short 5 hour exam) So im getting a lot of practice drawing skulls and thats where I came up with the concept.

I've since decided something similar to this might be nice to do in my exam (minus the knife and fork as that wouldnt really fit into the theme of the poject) - I would love to do a screen print of it, but 5 hours isnt enough to get 4 colors cut out and printed by hand, however a block colour painting could be possible to draw out and paint, I was thinking about double A1 paper size (90cm x 80cm / 36inches x 32 inches).

clear it up and try it in pink, or tan or black on white

I don't really like skulls BUT this is a really well laid out design, and I don't think it is hard to look at. If you can't see it right away it is not because of the design. Well, done.
