It's a little known fact that God has been known to sport a halo pick

This concept has a lot of potential. However, it just falls short of greatness in my opinion. The idea of the pick in the halo is good, but the silhouette of the head on "God" is not very good. The figures need a little more detail. The detail of the disco ball and light are too much compared with the figures. Overall, it lacks cohesiveness.

^ Agreed. With the head fixed, this would be a hundred times better. At the moment it looks like the stump of an amputated limb.

The reason for the head looking like it does is my assumption that his haircut (since the halo afro isn't his hair) would look somewhat like that of jesus (i.e. long and straight). I tried to pull in the collar a bit to emphasize that it was his hair coming down straight like that, not his neck. I didn't want to add too much detail since it's supposed to be backlit and anyways what does his face look like, but yeah the problem that you are bringing up was definitely considered. I couldn't come up with an elegant solution that I liked myself I guess.

Eros/Cupid doesn't look right in heaven and, graphically speaking, lacks the dimensionality of the God figure. Why not an angel?

i don't really like this at all. but that's just me.

I went with the cherub/baby-angel instead of a full angel just for size reasons, wanted him to be a lesser focus of the design. I think making the hair flow some and adding strands might work, I'll give it a shot.

no, there shouldn't be strands of flowing hair. who's got their hair down with a glowing afro wig with a pick in it? make the halo the ONLY hair, otherwise it will be redundant and weird. other than that, i love this. i'm excited to see the updated version.
