It varies from person to person what you called it, but TAG was its name in my neighbourhood.

Woah there.

YOUR IT, I could argue that once TAGGED you have possesion of said IT, then it is up to you to pass IT on.

YOU'RE IT is becoming the IT as more of a role playing game.

Constructive criticism is accepted. Lack of respect is not.

Especially from a ChemicalVagina and a KittyFucker.

I think it is comical that the crux of this shirt design is whether "it" is something that can be possessed or not. No matter what ebay would lead us to believe, I don't think it is. "It" is not be something one possesses, but something you are. I'm following ToucanSam, as designed... 0.

That's interesting... Cool!

Don't mind what they say, I like it. I'd buy it, just because of the 'YOUR.'

And, yes, if anyone wonders, I do know the difference between 'you're' and 'your.'

Inane discussion in regards to grammar aside, I rather like this shirt, either with your or you're. I'm not sure if I'd buy it because I don't need more Engrish convincing people that I'm an immigrant...though more so because those are EXACTLY my old high school's colors. (Brr.) But hey! It's spiffy anyway.
WittyWittyBangBang

I'm not even gonna mention the mistake. Not a big deal. I really dig the idea though! Without the mistake $4. I'd like it better on a mellower color than yellow. I'd wear it on black, or grey, or a darkish green or something.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And by the way Applepie, you used the wrong fucking 'there'. It should say 'their'. If you're going to insult someone's grammar, try to make sure you aren't making the same mistake. So unless you're only in 5th grade or don't speak English as a first language, I'm gonna have togo with you're a fucking dumbass.
Haha!
If YOU'RE sick of YOUR peers... who make grammar mistakes like "their/they're/there" or spelling mistakes like "gramatical", then let's gang up on the shirt designer without looking at our own flaws in this area!
I don't like the shirt, but the debate makes me laugh. I'm a grammar nazi, so the "your" is the first thing I noticed, but yeah... the reactions make it worth it. Good job.
For some reason, this reminds me of when someone says "your gay" online. I alway say 'Yes, that is my homosexual" in return.
"And by the way Applepie, you used the wrong fucking 'there'. It should say 'their'. If you're going to insult someone's grammar, try to make sure you aren't making the same mistake."
ACTUALLY, it shouldn't be "there" or "their", it should be "his or her" because the designer is one person, therefore has to have a singular posessive pronoun. "Their" actually refers to more than one person, just as "they" is more than one person. I'm not being bitchy about you bring wrong because I thought the above commet was VERY entertaining, but if you really want to get technical, it's neither.
And no, I'm not saying I follow every English grammar rule to the T. "Me and my sister" still go to the store, not "my sister and I." I still know the stuff though.
And seriously people, I think the designer knows that (s)he used the wrong word, you can stop now. =-)
And yes, I would buy it if it was spelled the other way, despite your explanation. It was a very nice explanation, but I can be quite stubborn, so I must have my "you're". Sorry.
graysong
graysong on Feb 26 '06
This is a great idea. One suggestion:since this is supposed to be a handprint, how about making it a muddy brown or sooty grey on a light color?
Not yellow though. We pasty-white boys look like we're suffering liver failure when wearing strong yellow: "Ooooh, hello sailor! Want to pass a little HepC my way?"
jellorocks
jellorocks on Feb 26 '06
Haha oh my god.
I love the shirt.
many poeple are commenting, saying things like
"IT IS YOU'RE, NOT YOUR"
but of course, the game Tag is about being in possesion of the "it" not being the "it."
So, of course, according to the rules of Tag you are not making any spelling errors.
5.
Cheers :)
tethysia on Feb 27 '06
I have to disagree with Jellorocks. When someone's 'it' in tag you think of them as being 'it', not having 'it'.
I like the idea but I would avoid anyone wearing it in its current form. Cute spelling errors because you bought your t-shirt in a non-english-speaking country are one thing, but glaring grammatical errors like this would make me think the wearer was a bit thick.
Meralis on Feb 27 '06
whoo... a bit of flaming going on here.
Ditto on fixing the your to you're. I'm not too sure about the colors (as yellow makes me look like I'm sick, and white is downright evil in my book), but perhaps charcoal gray or something with the bright yellow and green ink? For now a 4, but change all that and it will be a $5
HotShit
HotShit on Feb 27 '06
It'd be a cool shirt if you knew how to spell.
And if jellorocks knew the rules of tag.
placebofanboi
placebofanboi on Feb 27 '06
um, the game of tag is definitely about being the "it". i have no idea what jellorocks is smoking.
BUT i get it if you were spelling you're wrong on purpose like a little kid would do. i'm not sure if you're would fit quite as well. and at the same time, i would not buy it because it is incorrect and that would just bug me.
also, the hand should be in a different spot. like on the back or on the lower side. more random.
ArouraLeona
ArouraLeona on Feb 27 '06
I agree with the needing to fix the grammar error... as an English major I don't have much of a choice but to ask for such a thing; however, I don't feel that it justifies acting childish.
Surely a t-shirt design IS the be-all and end-all on a t-shirt website?
As far as the shirt goes, you should reverse the colours to a yellow hand on green shirt.
