Yeah, I know everyone's going to say lose the text, but seriously, it would be a lot better with just the fish.

Cool! This is actually the design I did for my tattoo, this is on my lower back. It has more colors, but essentially this is what it looks like. I just wanted to use it for something else. I think if I just had the fish, people would think it was boring so I put a little text.

Even weirder, I got an email saying this submission was denied?! Whatever.

One more comment, this is actually a different type of goldfish, I think it was a fantail.

awesome... i am working on a secret tattoo design for a shirt right now with koi, << in response to the koi and tattoo comments. As for the design, i really like it but what does the heart have to do with anything, it seems kinda forced considering you could have put anything on that hook.

I thought a worm was too literal with the fishing. And my husband calls me Fishes so it kind of has a personal meaning for me as well.

Very cute idea. Pay no mind to the text-haters; the text is what makes the design work.

A QUICK LESSON ON FISH!: koi and goldfish both belong to the cyprinid family but aren't the same. koi can grow up to a foot or more long, whereas goldfish tend to stick around five to six inches maximum. each have been developed for different colors and fins - this looks like a comet goldfish; the koi equivalent is the butterfly koi (so named for its long, flowing, wing-like fins). the difference between comets and fantails is that comets take the body of a "normal" goldfish and then elongate the fins, while fantails have a squatter, rounded shape as well as longer, more developed fins. if you want to see REALLY weird goldfish, check out bubble-eyed goldfish: they have the rounded, squat shape of a fantail, minus a dorsal fin, and enormous water sacs under the eyes. very otherworldly and vaguely disturbing!



as for the shirt itself: my one complaint is that from this angle, and from the way the fish is twisting, its tail looks like it's supposed to be horizontal, like a whale or dolphin, rather than the vertical construction of fish. but that's just because of the angle. i really really like the drawing of the fish itself; it's quite well executed!

i like it. i like the text. i wouldn't wear it because i don't much catch fishes, but i think it's asthetically pleasing.

Like the art, but could be a better type choice.

I like this, and would buy it. I'm not sure why people don't like the text - I think the style flows well with the lines of the fish, and really fits the hook.

I don't like the font, but the hook through the heart is kind of clever/cute. Still, to be honest, I wouldn't buy it.
