Rockslide on Feb 06 '06 this is a pretty funny idea, I just wish the people's faces were better drawn. The little monkey has a lot of character and detail to him but then the people are just bland. The concept is really great and original though. Fix up the people and resub. Maybe a little smaller in its placement too.

i love the idea. really. i agree, the monkey would do well on its own if there was change and such around it to symbolize that it was indeed supposed to be dancing, but just didnt feel like it.

when i sketched this one out i drew the people as stick figures, and when i inked it i gave them the dignity of clothes and thicker limbs, but otherwise they're still stick figures.
i could have added hairstyles i suppose, but i think they look more assanine this way, which is how the monkey perceives them. i wanted the people to appear as the monkey saw them. so.... no hair! |

Haha, this totally made me laugh. The monkey is perfect - the proportions, the expression, how it's sitting. I love it. I like the bald heads and the abstraction as is. It makes the men look more ridiculous. I think it's a little too busy - you could lose a few of the men, there are too many music notes, too many coins. I think you could afford to lose some of that and still keep a strong concept. 5
