I just think it classic because I could see him doing something like this too. It would be nice to have some of the shirt color coming through aswell into the note, no matter what shirt color you use... maybe even on natural like it was a canvas |

I ilike the idea but why $500? If Andy actually did this he would probably do a $1 since you see those more often and there are probably more $1 bills printed and in circulation. How often does anyone see a $500 bill. His whole thing was the over saturation of seeing something over and over again like Campbells soup cans.

Just a small detail, but you may want to change the "McKinley" under the portrait of Warhol to "Warhol"

Let me explain, 500 bill because Warhol used to duplicate his work & use it as currency, in fact he acquired the equivalent today of $60,000 of VT equipment with one piece, but if I'd made a $60,000 you lot would have been even more ??????. OK bout the yellow, not everyones fruit biscuit, I did put this up for critique as a blog but I got like 1 comment so what can I do?

Lichtenstein painted a dollar bill in 1956, six years before Wahol.
There was also another artist (whos name eludes me) that used to paint 100dollar bills and use them to pay for dinner and take the change he would have got if it were a real currency note. None of them were the first and they won't be the last! I think you should have gone for more realistic colours and thus more subtle. It looks a bit like a statement on the purchasing power of the gay community being pink! |

It doesn't matter to me that it looks Live Trace-ish. But, it does look more like a tribute. Then again, if you're just trying to sell the shirt, it doesn't matter what you were expressing about Warhol.

I love Andy Warhol this rox alot but, as many others, I'm really aprehensive about the yellow... it's a hard colour for me to wear, maybe in pink? |

the colors finely fit the world of pop art. you just clearly disguised this as another pop art piece. man this is just irony here. you bash andy with pop art while andy bashed the world with his pop art. but the design's pretty swell and so's the color. |
