 Well here it is guys, up for voting and no longer another preview on a blog. I love black tees and decided to create a design that would utilize being printed on a black tee. The silhouetted figure is on his phone. The inspiration came from seeing a family stare out an airport window watching planes take off with complete awe in their eyes.

I love the dude in the foreground. "Yeah, thats where my shirt started." V cool.
The widescreen format makes the vertical breaks look like stylised film scratches. I also like the ambiguity between the foreground, background, frame and subject. Nice job |

It's a really neat idea.
Since the guy is on his phone, though, do you mean that he's distracted and therefore not appreciating the fish? That's the first impression I had. Then I read your comment that it was inspired by people being awed, rather than oblivious, and became uncertain. |

I dunno, it can also look like the guy's holding a gun to his head...it'd be nice to really see that it's a cellphone, then I'd totally buy it. Otherwise 4.

I love it (sort of reminds me of that awesome scene in LADY FROM SHANGHAI)... for the girls' t, tho, maybe go for a khaki green type color? $5. ALSO, the original airport idea is great too... wouldREALLY like to see that as well, part of a series of inside-loooking-out window views?

I love how big the fish are.
he's just going through life, busy as usual... but the fish make him stop. Aquariums affect me in that way too. (unrealated but very good job in the template... it adds more to your picture I think.. but still it's very impressive) awesome job with the lines. it makes you feel seperate yet connected. I'd most definately buy it... the green one... 5. |

That and the fact that it's on a black shirt, make this just another bad design. |

the fish are really well done, but I also wondered why the guy is shooting himself in the head. being on the phone doesn't make any more sense, though.

Rockslide on Jan 19 '06 this is really cool, I loved it in the previews and I still do now. I do have a bit of a problem with the whole phone thing, I don't think it looks like a gun, but at the same time it makes you wonder why he is on a phone. If the hand was just unmistakably over to the side or something that would be cool. Its a great idea though, I like it a lot.

I immediately recognized it as a cell phone. The arm/hand/phone is at the wrong angle to read it as a gun.
Anyone ever been to Amazonia at the National Zoo? There's a walk-thru and it takes you underneath a portion of a rainforest river. And all this green/yellow light filters thru the water and it looks just like this illustration, complete with the huge, huge fish. So, this shirt brought back memories. I love it! |

I'm a tropical fish fan so this shirt brought up some memories.
It looks like the guy is an FBI agent adjusting his earpiece. The kelp/sea plant below the fish on the left hand side looks a little blank. That's all I see that stands out. Besides that, if the image was a little larger I would buy it! Excellent job with contrasting the black perpendicular lines and the background. |

I recognized it as a cell phone right off. I love it. But please, don't make the girly shirt another color. Who says we can't wear black?

Holy freakin' beautiful, batman. I have a picture of myself standing in front of the columnar aquarium in Boston that looks just like this. I also recognized the cell phone right away -- a very nice juxtaposition of nature and technology. Like the green better than the blue, but will buy either in a heartbeat when it gets printed.

Wow 23 comments in a matter of hours. To those who like the design I appreciate the support. To those who have their own issues against the design, I don't know what to say except the preview was up under the blog forum for a while and any advice would've been appreciated.

I REALLY want this shirt. In the blue, definately on black. Only suggestion: possibly add an antenna so the its definatley a phone, not to be confused with a gun when your wearing. Really Really want this shirt tho. 5$

At first glace I was just like "Meh", but when I noticed the blue design on the guy's tee shirt I just fell in love. Usually I hate designs that are too box shaped, but this is an exception. I think blue is my favorite, but I'd want it in practically any colour. Black tees FTW.

Personally, the cell phone is what sold it for me, because I think it makes a statement. He's at a beautiful aquarium and is more preoccupied with the phone. Isn't that America if not The World these days? I knew it was a phone immediately, i had to look to see the gun thing. $5

i saw it as a phone, but now the gun thing kinda bothers me. i can tell it's not a gun, but i would want people to think it was if i were wearing the shirt.

its cool i love it awesome job but if it ever gets printed because of the way its just one set frame it would look like an iron on..other than that the guy does look abit weird maybe make the hand abit thinner and more looking like a phone..then your set

Nice design, I love the detail of it. Reading some of the comments though, I agree the phone looks too much like a gun. Considering that gets changed, I vote 5$ for the blue design and please leave it on a black shirt.
