About my design

by BillyRoastbeef
Burrr. Is the cold, hoary hand of winter* extinguishing your hot chakras? Are you tired of the endless frost scrapping and yetti harassment? Mourn warmth no more! For now there is the Hotbod Sauropod t-shirt!

Hi, I'm Billy Roastbeef and I've created a second t-shirt for t-shirt connoisseurs to enjoy/critique/over-analyze. This shirt was inspired by childhood memories, science, and the harshness of winter. As soon as you adorn your morbidly chilled chest with the Hotbod Sauropod t-shirt, you will feel like the mighty Vulcan emerging from a steamy sauna.

Utilizing ancient textile technologies from the forgotten land of Pangea, this shirt is designed to warm your body and your soul! Flaunt the primordial pride of your prehistoric roots! And do it dino-style!

Vote today and thank you!

"While it snows outside, and the heating bill soars, wear this shirt to remember our warm days of yore.

Return to a tropical land almost unknown,

A place where ferns grew and sauropods roamed."

*If you live in the North Northern Hemisphere

Urban Outfitters' t-shirt list: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/jump.jsp?itemID=172&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=163&iSubCat=172&sort=0&viewall=All

It's not on there, so I assume you guys saw it in person or something?

Sweet concept.
lankytom
lankytom on Jan 12 '06
Funny concept, not so hot on the execution---look up a scientific description/illustration of Pangaea and try again.

Note the missing "a"... typo?

You might want to reconsider your continental boundary lines in order to make the whole supercontinent look a bit more cohesive and less like a continental cut-paste. Also, the fish-eye perspective (did you trace over a globe image?) is a rather distended. Nice, but try again.
Aeronca
Aeronca on Jan 12 '06
Yeah, tom has a point. Do you realize how many people are going to scoff at the continental boundary lines? Because I sure don't.
i_am_bri
i_am_bri on Jan 12 '06
I love this shirt. finallly I can come out about my nerdiality and flaunt my distorted continenal boundry lines...

hey know it all:

Pan·gae·a also Pan·ge·a P

n.

A hypothetical supercontinent that included all the landmasses of the earth before the Triassic Period. When continental drift began, Pangaea broke up into Laurasia and Gondwanaland.

Take that bitches.

Oh my god. This thing is possibly the best thing I have EVER seen in my ENTIRE life! It makes me want to be not poor so that I can afford it! Actually, I think this is one of the few shirts on Threadless I would buy at full price.

Hot shit! This satisfies both my mental and physical need for an article of clothing relating to my suppressed childhood obsession with dinosaurs. Now I can finally stop rereading Jurassic Park and digging around in my background with a cosmetics brush. Thank you Billy Roastbeef! I will laud this shirt like a nearly flawless Heterodontosaurus skeleton.

Despite what someone wrote, I didn't rip this from Urban. That would be pathetic and lame on my behalf. If they do have a similar shirt (which I dont believe they do) it is a coincidence.

"Pangaea" looks better, but other than that, v. cool shirt.
Solmu
Solmu on Jan 16 '06
If the spelling of Pangaea was corrected and the map cleaned up a little (it seems close but not quite right) I'd probably buy this.

(assuming it's not a rip, but no-one's actually backed up that accusation, and I suspect it was just a dig at the shirt)
mrblue96
mrblue96 on Jan 16 '06
I agree...I've never seen this at Urban Outfitters, although that doesnt mean much. Its funny how some folks need spell check these day. Great idea if its original...although with as many punches as this has taken, it probably wont make it to printing...to bad.

simpatico on Jan 18 '06
Please don't incorporate the leaves! This shirt would be absolute perfection with 1) Pangea spelled Pangaea and 2) Pangaea drawn more accurately (keep the white outline, just find a real map of it to trace or something because it doesn't look right). Then I'd spend whatever it costs to by this shirt!

yeah, i can agree with above. I really love this idea, and if it was printed somewhere else, even, i would buy it.
