The white on the shirt sleve and collar doesnt seem to fit in with either color scheme. It's distracting, I'd replace with a really light shade of kelly/royal.

ditch the white, simplify the background, keep the suit, fix the end of the gun (does in fact look like a life savers candy)...

but i'm digging the direction

xlnt design---you should change the overall shape of the tree branch backround so it isn't a rectangle-> more radial like lady liberty's crown. 5 as is, $ as changed

The idea is awesome, but the tree branch concept is a bit too busy.

I can't seem to join any non obvious dots of relevance, tree, song, liberty? Overall image is interesting. I like the placment. The aestheetic simplicity of comic imagery can be quite striking, if you like comics keep at it, i'll be interested to see if your next submission hits the next level.

Tree in background is to add depth drawing the eyes downward toward Liberty...song link due to the gun ...revenge for all that liberty has witnessed in the last few years..I was thinking of doing a comical joke gun the ones that unroll out a Bang cloth.

Sorry helo disagree there.....Dont change the detail on the hand itll look too realistic and step away from a statues hand! its amazing god whats with the lifesaver thing? gouki is a fellow Brit and we (probably) havent heard or seem of this sweet before.Cracking design ! Love it

I also agree with beta_maxx. It appears as if you're trying several different styles with the same piece of art, and it just doesn't seem to work for me. Either the hand needs to be shaded like the face, or the face needs to be cartoony like the hand.

And the gun does look like it has a lifesaver stuck on it.

I could really do with less of the tree branches, looks too earthy for a political message, doesn't fit with the building design. Otherwise, COOL AS ALL HELL. (And I didn't even notice the life-saver gun thing until I read the posts, so I wouldn't worry about it)

As much as I like this for what I can read from it, it's intention isn't very clear. Also, there are a mixture of styles from the background to parts of the statue herself. It looks as if this was a group project and the members each did their own part and put it together.

Also, for what I'm thinking it symbolizes, Uncle Sam may be a better figure? As the Statue was a gift from France, so the meaning could be miscontrued.

I don't really give half a crap about what it means, but it sure looks cool. I do have a big gripe, though: the suit, gun, and background are all badass (come to think of it, why is she wearing a man's suit?), but the statue and hand (especially the hand) don't fit in and her head especially doesn't look right in relation to the suit, like she's behind a floating suit that has an excessively simplified cartoon foam hand coming out of it. On that note, the gun is really simple, too. The branches could probably end a bit more randomly across the shirt, but then it's all really big........ I changed my mind, I don't like it anymore.

Ok cool, so if the tree is simply there to surve a purpose, and also add aesthetic quality what other image could better serve your message whilst also aiding to the overall look?
Being uninlightened from Australia i ascociate the statues surroundings with a more gemoetric presence, and she is the organic sculpture, the trace of humanity, the life in the city. I love the idea of the pop gun toy thing. Perhaps in a more classical pose. This would change the entire political stand point of the work. From an international point of view Bush, and our own involvment in Irauq is generally painted with a negative lingering presence. I think the statue was once a gift from france who were aposed to the war. If she were real i wonder what liberty would think of the ensuing conflict. Perhaps your initial image is more of a testiment to the horror and rage she must have felt for her city initialy, and the second idea could tell a tail of regret for all the following horror in the wake of her vengance. Just ideas but with so much emotion forget about its success as a teeshirt, it could be a special piece of art.
