I really like the underground drill vehicle,
but not many are going to know what Letraset is. And even if everyone was familiar with it, does the concept/ design do a great job of grabbing the viewer? I'm hesitant to say yes. |

ALIADOTONY on Jan 04 '06 so here's the explaniation...in ancient times before computers were the necessary tools the are today designers worked with letraset, a plastic sheet that contained letters simbols...patterns whatever, this transfers where put on top of the paper and all you had to do is sketch over it with a pencil...voila! ready, i guess it's just a way to catch up with the old tools!

I LOVE IT! I actually still have ALOT of letraset crap from when I used to work in an art store....I'm haboring it for "special" time....heehee

tesko on Jan 04 '06 super-duper, you dont have to explain letraset to me. the cololurs are a bit conservative, you could go wild with this. I'd like day-glo orange print on a white tee.

it's cute, but there are too many things going on in the graphic. Perhaps, if there was some color, it would be better, and not look so hectic

et al. on Jan 05 '06 make it 1 funky color on a funky colored shirt and i'd be all over it...you don't need the white ink, just knock it out to the shirt color...it kinda ruins it in my eyes....

HOLY LETRASET! I love it.
As for colors, I really like how it looks with black (classic letraset) on gray/silver, as if the shirt is acting as the frosted transparent backing. |

Do you need to use white? Seems really unnecessary. Or, what if you used black and white inks but printed the shirt on grey? That might be cool.

yes it is art history...
since when i art history just movement's? as a professional designer i started my career comping everything under the sun with letraset... as a designer you couldn't work without it. i didn't say it was the greatest thing since gropius but it has it's place. just like the original mac is part of art history. it's a tool. so when you're scrolling through the 10 billion fonts on your computer think about what it would be like to only have 5 typefaces at your disposal and you've used up all your "E"s in futura black! |

steven218 on Jan 10 '06 hi Pastio, i'm one of those oldies who used letraset in my early days and i genuinely do look on it with frustrated affection. i still wouldn't place it high up on my list of art history however - i think i'll keep in the fond memory box along with cow gum, and reserve the tag 'history' for decent briefs and budgets!
