That pin is insanely small, but I like the idea. A lot of the voters that just vote and go without looking at the comments won't get it, sadly.

It is a subtle design; I'm not sure how many people will get it right off the bat though.

The pin is, well, proportionate to the rest of the elements; I don’t think it could be larger and still be a pin. I thought that the fact that the thug balloon's raising his string (arm) was visible and suggestive enough. Besides, part of the idea is precisely that to a balloon a pin is ‘life’ threatening.
I also abstained from putting faces on the balloons, because I thought that would make it too obvious and cartoony, so I went instead with making the menacing balloons a different, more aggressive color.
