I think it should be "Allo?" rather than "Allo...". Or maybe "Allo/Bonjour" which would be instantly recognizeable to Canadians at least.

For those who aren't Canucks: All Federal institutions and many companies require their support staff to be bilingual. Many bilingual Canadians speak French as their first languange, so their English is accented (thus allo instead of hello). To let the person on the other end of the line know that they are welcome to speak either French or English callers are greeted with the ubiquitious "Allo/Bonjour". Phew.
