But the squid is hard to see. SQUIDS ARE ALWAYS HARD TO SEE.

Lots of work needed on the execution here. The black is way off your colour palette and drags the eye in awkward directions. The placement is too near the neck and the shapes don't flow together. I like random ideas and naive styles but this feels like a preliminary sketch, rather than the outcome of thought and effort. Much prefer your ornithology one.
