So you slap a couple of multi colored boxes on a t shirt and it would be considered crap. But call it "modern art" and it's a great masterpiece that deserves my 5 and buy. Riiiight.
I'm sorry, that was harsh. I myself have a great appreciation for most art, but most "modern" and conceptual art I can't really appreciate. I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.
i think i might be in love with you.
if this doesn't get printed, i will cry a river...
alright, enough with the melodrama...
this is great, you're awsome...even my hero.!
I'd BUY!!!!
haha....I had the screen on my laptop tilted too far back so everything was darker than normal and I couldn't see the dark parts so I had to figure it out by myself.....I got it though and it rocks even more now that I can see it....I'm rambling.......nice shirt
what is the point of this?
i hope for your sake you dont think of this as contemporary 'concept' art.
its fair enough to take ideas and insperations from famous artists but all you've done here is to copycat a simple concept and made it even simpler.
if you had used coloured boxes to fill another (your own hopefully) illustration it would be fine, but to put 4 shades of grey in a black box shows no imagination or skill whatsoever.
txt is just as bad
Of course I don't consider myself as a contemporary artist...
It just makes a statement...
It is clear that there is no intention of showing my skills here...
Ahh don't worry about the "my 4 year old brother could do better than that" chorus - they always whine when modern art is mentioned- it's a clever idea and nicely executed
dear god i hate art skeptics. "oh its not that great rarara" biting thumbs at anything that isnt a landscape or portrait....its not art anymore people, its about questioning the subject matter in a new way to what it might have been initially created for. bunch of grey boxes, pretty useless. look what you lot have done. grey boxes = conflict. notice the people who like the shirt manage to maintain a decent level of grammar and spelling? lolomigoshliekwtfbbqZOMG TENTACLE MONSTER its bloody great. $5
i like it. reminds me of playing "traffic jam" on my graphing calculator in high school. also, it's just cool. i like abstract art, but all my friends hate it, so i have to pretend like i do too or they jump all over me. like when i said i thought mark rothko's work was cool . . . they blew up on me. it wasn't a fun day.
it is a brave attempt at the de stijl/mondrian concept. compositionwise it is lacking a bit.... i like it for the most part. the comment about postmodernism is only partly correct. by definition yes we are in a post modern period, however this design could be construed as a post modern interperetation of the geometric modern style of mondrian. postmodernism is about the interperetation and not the originality of the concept. sorry, art history teacher, here.

cement shoes, that's the same reaction that common people have when going to a museum and find a painting that just consists in dripping...

causing quite a stir here, eh?
the irony is that indifference is the only way to truly defeat art.
nice.
