I saw a movie and it spawned the idea for the design. One of the characters always uses a pick-up line about how a goldfish's memory only spans 3 seconds...

i know the myth about goldfish, but still, my first thought was that it was a reference to sex, and that sex was the meaning of life.

jackanapes - in terms of the meaning of life, I'm not ruling anything out;) People will see what they want, whether that is a sexual reference to simply having a consistently fresh outlook on everything. I like ambiguity.

I havent watched mythbusters, butmy goldfish's memory lasts way longer then three seconds. How else would they learn when you are going to feed them (whenever I enter the kitchen and start cooking, my goldfish recognises all the noise and knows i'll feed him, too. {not just any time I walk by the tank} . he starts swiming around faster and gulping at the top when I pick up his food, too. {it floats on the top} . the food before this kind sank to the bottom, so he'd look for it at the bottom of the tank. their's no way their memory lasts 3 seconds))

it's still a cute shirt, though.
but try tracing the photo yourself in illustrator,with the pen tool, instead of using the photoshop cutout filter. when you get good at it, you'll notice that you can do a much better job tracing it yourself. It turns out "cleaner" and less "choppy"
((you can tell by the way the fish's scales are. do you see what I mean? photoshop had a hard time tracing that part, so it just ended up with some random pieces, that dont look like fish scales. when you trace it yourself it turns out better.))

its pretty good but maybe you could spruce up the font a bit.
i remember seeing a commercal like this (sorta) it did kind of what wainwrightmedia.com did. ha it cracked up each time.

Could it swim on some kind of blue? And the type could be solved by placing it within the space above the fish and running over the grey fins. Then a $5 will come from me.

i love the concept but not the execution of the fish. It looks like the computer did all of the vector work. If you created the fish a bit cleaner I would definately buy.

the fishes head and face looks funny. not very detailed. i realize its pointless to put too much detail into it. but. not very detailed.
