There is a RFTC shirt that says that.... the message isnt strange or off... but it is something that not many might get, although very true.

i agree with pix six. i didn't get it until i saw the title, but it's a good concept. sometimes you need direct imagery if the text isn't as straightforward. maybe the whole shirt should have a more 80s feel to it.

I also wish that there was some way to convey the idea in the title of the shirt with visuals while retaining the mood but i cant think of one. its sad because you actually had an idea and a visual concept unlike most of the other entrys i give you five

home recording will kill the music industry - a modern statement that doesn't need the title to be understood... tape? eh.. and if you're going to keep the cigarette fix it up a lil bit, it looks saggy.

BanjoTB... the actual message of the design is that, if in the 80's tape recording didn't kill the industry, 20 years later, mp3 won't kill either...

Hee -- the design made this oldster remember how much better The Eye of the Tiger by Survivor sounded on 8 track than it did taping it off the radio.

Hmm. I think that the picture can do without the cigarette, the man's eyes (or what you can see of them anyways) already show preoccupation. The cig is also a little bent though, throughs things a bit off. I love the message, it still applies today. I'd buy it, but I'll give it a four.

I think it's amazing. I get exactly what you're trying to say and the text is awesome.

Maybe tweek the cig a bit and you're set. =)

Purely graphically speaking though, I think it's awesome. The cig could do with some work, but the guy is awesome, the smoke is awesome and I even like the text (I like the typeface, I like the variation in line thickness, I like the variation in colours, I like the placement, I just wish it said something else >__<).

So yeah, redo the design with text that seems more relevant to the image, but doesn't suck, and a better cigarette, and I will love this design forever.

P.S. sucks on the red, awesome on the navy blue.
