Minority Interest
A war themed design...

But I wasn't there. Won't I look like a poseur in this shirt?

i agree with scrybe. The design is very very nice, but... i wasn't there. Perhaps change the text to something else or remove it alltogether.

Agreed. Remove the "I Was There" and it's a great design.

Is this like a "I went to war and all i got was this lousy T-shirt" Thang?

I like the design. I LIKE the text. If you're so worried about sounding like a poseur, you are a posuer.

If you used poser sarcastically, remember sarcasm is conveyed through tone of voice and facial expression.

The one thing I don't like is the black T-shirt. Put it on something ironic, like light blue.

well, thanks for all the comments. i didn't expect that the caption would gain so much attention.

the caption is not meant to be sarcastic, and definitely not a "i went to war and got this t-shirt" thing. it's supposed to capture some empathy, and show the pain and violence of war. in fact, if you must find some 'application' for the design, we ARE living in times of terrorism. Perhaps not as extreme as war, but the fear and alertness is always there.

hmm.. having said this, perhaps the caption could be changed since you guys feel it's not suitable...

Regardless of what the caption said the typograghy looks tacked on and boring, which is the polar opposite of the design. If you still want the catption try writing in using negative space inside the design, if i explained that well enough.

I really like this. But agree that it might look better withou the text

At first, I wasn't a big fan of the text either, but after reading your comment, it sounds like "I am (still) there" would make more sense? What hoives said works too. Or no text at all, because the design is still awesome on its own.

i like - but no text.

^ Maybe even "I am still here"

...Of course, if I wore and went back to the place I lived for almost two decades, people would still call me an "arab terrorist" and tell me I shouldn't wear this because I'm working with bin Laden.

Which makes me want to wear it all the same. I like how the panels look -- and I love the colors used. $5

I LOVE the design, but I HATE the text. I WASN'T there, and I can imagine a lot of people who were getting very, very angry about it. I have enough respect for anyone who puts their life on the line not to pretend that I have, too.

Removing the caption altogether would probably appease the masses more than just changing it, a lot of people don't like text here in general. O_o I think the text in the design itself covers it pretty well anyways... beautiful design overall. ^^ $5.

Oh, IMHO: Girl-tee dark gray would ROCK SO HARD. <3 *doesn't often wear black*

Bad caption. Extremely disrespectful to veterans and civilians who survived war.

Yeah- The "I was there" narrows down who'd wear it.

Other than that, though... It's terrific.

I'd buy it :)
