Assuming the text isn't on the shirt, this pretty much rules. Nice work.

Not really a big fan of the green color, but the idea is good.

My first thought: white earbuds=iPod... were iPods around in the 90s?

God damn it! How many schlubs have to use cassettes before someone steps on that stale groove?

Just to clarify Nope the text isnt on the shirt.

Well it isnt supposed to be specifically iPod headphones... but as white was a colour already used and nearly all other headphones are black I thought I might aswell go with that colour.

The basic concept is that music lives forever and even if its 2005 we still loved the 90s and before aswell... even though the cassette is almost unheard of we'll remember it forever just like vinyl isnt greatly used any more. Okay now we have mp3 players and headphones but still the past lives on in some aspects of that too.

Thanks for the comments!

really slick vectors, but I'm not grasping the connection..
iPods owe a lot to cassettes? or... headphones still tangle like they did in the 90's?

Anyways I think the 90's are more associated with CD's. 80's-cassettes.

You mean tied to the 80's. Really. I got my first CD player in 1990. But it's still cute. :-)

Well I dont think many people had CD players in 1990 but this is mainly why I didnt palce the text on the shirt and just had the cassette and headphones.

Oh by the way thanks for the comments again. I really appreciate feedback for future designs. I dont know if other people feel the same but I always appreciate comments both good and bad, as they are helpful most of the time.

URB

CONTEST

CASSETES, VINYL, FILES...

It's a theme they HAVE to follow.... Damn I'm getting sick of seeing posts like this....

hey Threadless...make it more visible that this is part of the contest, or you won't get a fair vote from the people who are "sick" of seeing the themes over and over again....it's not immediately clear that they are part of the competition....therefore, I don't believe we are having fair votes.... just my two pence....

Regular threadless visitors have probablly noticed that above the rating section there is an image stating if its part of a contest, though it took me a while to realise it was there.

I think most of the voting audience realizes when it's the contest. The clueless ones who keep crying about casette tapes are probably a small fraction of us. As it is, with or without the banner at the top, I see a casette, and think "URB contest."

This one is great, by the way, not my favorite, but my second favorite!

My second favourite, apart from the gingerbread one I saw on the home page a few minutes ago.

Maybe change the green to white?

A lot of people tend not to like white too much for shirt colors, however the design should work on almost any color as its just grays.

If placed on a white shirt then the colours would have to be changed slightly else it wouldnt show up properly, but Im sure it could work, just with a lot of comments Ive seen on other designs here white doesnt seem to be too popular choice for the tshirt color.

Out of curiosity whats your favourite one "green-means-go"?

This is interesting. It reminds me of when my parents' Volvo would eat our tapes. Ruined our old Abba tapes like that.

I like it. Simple and to-the-point.

...it's so the URB contest though :P ! im not saying it has to have ipod / cassette / vinyl etc. in the design but the theme is "CD / Cassette / Vinyl and files" and this was what I wanted to do.

   plastikaa on Oct 19 '05
Also Younglove did you have a cassette player before this? if so then hey doesnt that make you using it in the 90s :P okays I could have wrtoe 80's and 90's but I dont think the name would be so catchy.

Tied to the 90's - an early Travis song - we're all tied to the 90's!
